A gallon is fine but I would guess that if you are always thirsty, you are probably always running toxic(acidic)...I would suggest 1/4 tsp. of armour hammer baking soda twice a day along with 1 tbsp. of Apple Cider Vinegar(with the MOTHER) twice a day...

I only have about three litres a day, which is a lot less than a gallon. At the end of the day, as long as your piss is clear, you're drinking enough water. Any more than this is just unnecessary.

Never measure how much water I drink a day. After every set I walk to the water fountain and take at least 4-5 gulps. I drink tap water and alcohol. At least a half to one gallon of NYC's finest everyday I figure? Skins soft as a babies bottom.
That study is regarding people that are DEHYDRATED, and then subjected to excercise. If you basically just drink when your thirsty, you won't be dehydrated. There is a difference between being adequately hydrated and overhydrated to the point of having to run to the bathroom every 1/2 hour.
