Gregg Withdraws Nomination for Commerce Secretary

Man, this dude (Obama) can't hang on to anyone!!


Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire has withdrawn his nomination to become President Obama's commerce secretary.

In a statement released by his office, the New Hampshire senator cites "irresolvable conflicts" on issues including the economic stimulus package.

Gregg was named the Commerce nominee a week ago after the withdrawal of former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.

It's funny that when anything in the universe happened the last 8 years it was Bush's fault, or the previous 8 years it was Clinton's fault....but it just can't be Chairman Obama's fault!?!

I don't have confidence in the plan either.

It seems like a hastily-crafted, generic band-aid that'll only slow down the bleeding for so long.

I just don't believe that you spend your way out of a recession this deep. 

If we were building a new infrastructure for whatever America's 'next energy' is, I would be ALL for it...BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS YET...BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T DONE THE RESEARCH.  I hate to yell, but that's the truth.

"We're going to retrofit all these old buildings, because it's the smart thing to do" is just stupid, IMO.  The buildings he's talking about are fine as is.  This whole notion that we'll spend $100 billion now to save $200 billion over the next 30 years is ridiculous.
