People who deny evolution obviously don't watch the Science channels or read Science websites. If they did, they would know all of the countless discoveries even being made DAILY which prove Evolution.

Not that any new discoveries are even needed to prove evolution, It's been proven over and over again since at least the end of the 19th century. Scientists started realizing that Common descent were true at least 120 years ago.

I blame the shitty educational systems as well as our culture. Americans simply don't prize intelligent like other nations do. People who don't believe in Evolution are truly idiots.

If that poll has been done just among of your politicians, the outcome would be different, and believers of evolution would be a small minority. Mechanism behind that phenomena is simple, because all successful experts of mass manipulation has based their skills on religion trough the history of man. To be successful in politics, you have to touch peoples feelings, not their intelligence. If you think about it, you see it your self. God bless the America, god bless the queen, go and fight for home, religion and your country, and if you survive, it is a work of god. If you die, it was meant to be. God bless the fighters on both sides of the front line, god's name may be different, but who the hell can prove who have a right one. If you want to be a politician, you have to have religious mind, little clever perhaps but you never can have real intelligence, that's bad for politicians. Why? You have to be stupid enough to believe that crap which you are feeding to people, if you don't, you lost your credibility. Furthermore, if you put up a survey of IQ among a religious people and supporters of darwinism, you see the fact that religious people score very low average. Politicians vs. stockbrokers from wall street? Politicians lost with a difference of more than 20 points average. Funny part is that they rule your world, they make your laws trusting to god and divine guidance, same as every country you can name.

Actually, I think if there were any studies done now comparing the intelligence of the average American in the 1950's with today's Americans you would probably see that there's been a huge decline and i think the reasons go beyond religion. One theory for that (not necessarily my own) is that forced integration in schools and the influx of third world latin immigrants has caused a serious problem in our educational system. When it became obvious "certain" students could not keep up with the others, the standards of learning were severely lowered or "dumbed down" to accomodate the more intellectually backward. Also, since the Media has heavily promoted the whole hip-hop and rap culture for the last 15 years or so, white kids have started to adopt the speech, and behavior patterns of those depicted in the videos they have watched. In other words they have undergone a de-evolution of sorts. From what I have seen of today's younger generation, I don't see much hope for America.

Integration has nothing to do with. It's all about culture. Americans prize Paris Hilton and not Stephen Hawking. Game shows and not science shows. Shitty Music and not Math. Leisure and not hard work. Etc.
