Cartoons aren't supposed to directly reference something. I'd bet $100 that artist/illustrator had Obama in mind, but of course he's going to deny it now that he's being called out on it.

Bush wasn't half black.. I didn't see any cartoons of hicks with banjos invading sovereign countries. That would be the equivalent to the chimp cartoon.

Cartoons DO DIRECTLY reference an issue in a Metaphorical way.

Bush is just as much Ape as you, I and Obama are. I don`t get why being compared to a similar species is racist or negative when we are ALL related to that species very closely.

Furthermore there have been TONS of Cartoons drawn of Bush as a Redneck with a Cowboy hat on with Guns Blazing to the tune of Yosemite Sam aiming them at other countries.

Things like this is the only way people like Al Sharpton have anything to do. SHARPTON is the one who essentially created this whole controversy. 1. It's a right wing newspaper.

2. They thought the Stimulus looked like it was written by a monkey.

3. It is in reference to the monkey shooting. (OBVIOUSLY)

4. Obama did not write the stimulus, The author says he knew this.

5. It's not advocating shooting Obama (like the NAACP or race baiters like Sharpton claim) because it's about the Chimp and only the Chimp.

6. When I first saw the cartoon, I KNEW what it was about and didn't think for one second that it was about Obama.

People who are getting angry over this are only proving themselves to be as smart as chimps. Only a chimp would misinterpret a cartoon as badly as a lot of people have.
