This strategy was not implemented by the Red Army until 1942. In 1941 they threw in everything they had and did not retreat an inch thus loosing so many men. They had no good military strategy. It wasn't until 1942 when they started to learn from their mistakes of the previous year.

Seems kinda weird... IF you can win the battles, you would try everything you can to do so and not let them in. When the allies landed at normandie, germany didn't let them in voluntarily...

thats the point, initially they could not. so instead of putting all their effort into mounting a desperate stand along their borders they knew that in order to survive and ultimately win they would be forced to adopt a long-term strategy which used their vast territory to their advantage, involving conceding the germans to penetrate far and spread themselves thin, in this way they their territory and superior numbers would be a strong advantage whereas concentrating all their sub-par forces close to the border would have resulted in their army's destruction and allow them no time to full mobilize to a wartime economy. it ended up playing out exactly as hoped and they won in the end - by choosing a battle of attrition

Most Germans are very, very liberal, in some cases almost socialist and they're proud of it.  They are very ashamed of their past because the media constantly reminds them of it.

there not many countries which can reach germany's standards...maybe sweden,austria,norway etc

I truly believe middle Europe is by far the best place to be in the entire world, some other locations are nice for holidays, but for living standards we're just right.
