I'm black and can't swim for shit.  Despite being a great runner (uh, years ago), I'm *very* inefficient in the pool.  I expend more energy in one lap than most people do in four laps. 

Even now that I'm fat, I still don't swim well. 

My dad, though, swims like a fish.

Black males have a bit lower bodyfat, on average, than white males. That's about it. Strength wise, once white people start training hard then they are much stronger. This is why all of the top powerlifters/strongmen are white. Muscle symmetry?  Basically the same.

Not sure this is exactly true. I'm from the south and played fball here hs and college. Most of the guys white and black always seemed stronger than "city boys" is what we called them or guys manufactured out of the gym that were not from the country parts. 

The cornbread home grown country boys were waaaay stronger when we lifted or even played other teams you could see the difference...again...did n't matter the skin color. Some dudes are just strong mofo's.

I don't make excuses, but I did everything possible (everything legal, that is! lol) in 5 weeks to get ready, but I just had too much ground to make up. 

I honestly felt that I was going to beat her on the back lifts, but we weren't able to do that workout because of her injury.  What sucks for me now is that we'll never know how I would've done.  We can still compete once she's recovered, but with me continuing to train while she's recovering, I should clearly pass her up with just my regular training program.  There goes my schmoe fantasy down the drain. :(
