10 quid says MCWAY never told his children to question anything.
But I have to object to the term Christian or Muslim child, no children should be labeled that way.
Notwithstanding the fact that one of my kids just got out of diapers, you may as well cough up the $$$$$$ to Ozmo, now (I believe he prefers cash

).
There's a reason we have Bible Study in our home. We teach our kids the way of the Lord, as instructed in Scripture. The older kids often do have questions, and my wife and I are more than happy to answer them.
But, lack of questioning isn't the issue here. This has more to do with your claimthat such isn't being done, due to your assumption that, if it were, the result would be a rejection of one's faith. That, based on personal experience and observation, is categorically FALSE.
When I was growing up my all my parent said to me was try to be a good person and look at all belief systems and question everything. How many of the fundamentalists here can claim that? How many here are forcing their offspring into a paradigm of rigid thought and belief and no exposing them to different ideas? I bet very many here. Would you consider this a sort of child abuse?
My mother didn't tell me to "try and be a good person"; she demanded that I be such (else my rump and her belt would be joined in disciplinary union). There was no doubt as to what right and wrong were, because she instructed me as to which was which, based on her Christian beliefs.
Kids get exposed to different ideas, whether their parents want them to be or not. I was exposed to such as a kid, and I went to Christian school virtually my entire K-12th grade life.
