You will always work your hamstrings. The back only does static work. The glutes, hamstrings, quads etc. do the actual lifting.

I do them on my back day but I always leave a rest day between a ack and a leg workout as my hams always feel sore the day after also.

True. the hip flexion is what gets the bar up.

When i do 'em I try and make it a dead/shrug type thing

Man the fuck up.

Two reasons for me not to lift legs.

1. I have naturally big legs so i really don't want them bigger. So i do sprints and running to strengthen them without making them too big.

2. My dad, uncle, granddad, and younger brother all have hernias. I am doing my best to stay away from that fate.

Every other back day at the moment, which translates to about once every 3 weeks.  ::)

Been doing long hours on building sites lately so... that's my excuse.  Normally use a 4x split with only a day or two off each week tho.

bend your knees more.  I always have a brutal back soreness, and very seldomly have sore low back.  I go light at first then just do singles or triples for 3-4 sets.

Usually on leg day.  I've always felt them more in my hams than anything else, so leg day is fine for me.

Should be done on a leg day as a first exercise power movement 1-3 to 5 reps max. Power always first then strength.

Deadlifts should be done on deadlift day. The question should be, "do I work back or legs on deadlift day?

Have a happy St. Deadlift day.
