Depression while off the juice?
« on: March 30, 2009, 09:58:35 AM »
I have a good friend of mine, naturally big and strong (not a pu**y like me  :-[).

He was always the alpha male, lots of girls, always happy...you get the picture.

Started training seriously and gained lots of mass while using the juice, and he was really incredible.

He had to quit for health problems and since then fell into deep depression, already tryed two times suicide.

Now in treatement by a specialist doctor.

Is it a common situation to feel down if not on the juice?

Not to be a dick, but he sounds weak minded.  Prolly had low self esteem prior to juice.  While cycling it made him feel adequate, then off juice he reverted to a confidence level prior to where he began.

That's why it's good to have hobbies and other things you're good at outside of weightlifting.

Yeah but some people get butthurt when you give an assessment about their friends.  Seriously being good at other things keeps you going.  Take pride in what you do.  A lot of people fall into the trap of dedicating 100% of themselves to lifting and pay the price when it doesn't pan out the way they thought it would.

It's not being "off the juice" that is causing your friend's depression, but rather the low testosterone levels that he is now suffering from since stopping. Exogenous testosterone will shut off your body's natural production. Once you stop receiving the outside source, your levels plummet and your body's own production has not kicked back in. He needs either an experienced physician in restoring natural testosterone levels, an appropriate HRT dosage, or the ability to wait it out and hope that his levels return to pre-usage (or at least normal) levels on their own. I would recommend option one.

yep... i had zero issue quiting it, make sure your pct is correct and long enough and monitored with blood work. Find something else to do with your life,  fishing, racing cars, playing with my kids,  i actually found out what life was when i stopped kidding myself about pro bb'ing.

Yeah, I was gonna say more or less the same... it's true going on and off cycle does fuck with your head and can lead to some mild depression, but nothing that would lead the guy to suicide...

if he stopped doing the juice, we should really consider his dedication.

PCT and breaks are for quitters, everyone knows that

might not be just the drugs... might be  underlying factors as well...
was he the alpha male cause he wanted to be.. was he compensating???

I had a good friend of mine... he was prom king, dated the hotest girls in high school and college, D1 baseball player, class president, top 10 graduating high school, he wanted to be a doctor and had the brains to do so.. anyways he was a closet homosexual.. he dad disowned him and he committed suicide... :-[
not saying your friend is gay but maybe hes not really happy

No, Totally wrong..  Testosterone plays a major role in a having a feeling of well being.
Thats mainly one way you know you have low estostorne levels..Depression, sleeping too much ect.
Most are all show no go!
