FYI, the lunk alarm is just a gimmick. We drop weights all the time (usually just from chest/shoulder workouts), then give up a grunt (not me) here & there. Who cares? Does the alarm ever "go off"? Nope.

It all depends on the guy behind the counter, I dont think any of em have the balls to do anything. I worked at a PF in CT for 2 weeks as a trainer part time was against my better judgement

looks like an atmosphere for pussies who don't want their ego shattered by a big strong guy fatasses by people in shape

it's not good actually, if you do get your ego shattered you will want to get as big or strong as that guy
they are not encouraging any progression

I think when I entered that gym, I would be paranoid as hell. Thinking once I dropped a weight or grunted a little bit to loudly, I would hear that damn alarm. First off I know I would stick out like a soar thumb because I'm bigger then the average man( not fatter). Everybody would just put there tracker beam on me and watch my every move. Damn, I wouldn't last a fucking week.

I've been going to PF for about 18 months, and I've only heard the "lunk alarm" a couple times. The really do exercise some measure of common sense most of the time.

You are more than welcome to come down to FL to our little "anti-intimidating atmosphere" at Planet Fitness. The "p's", as you call it would love to show you a little workout session (your choice of bodyparts) & then buy you some breakfast afterwards. As far as progression, that's totally up to you.

BTW, just wondering, what are your stats so I can create the specific workout agenda for ya. Let me know, k?
