Fell asleep again.  They better quit cruising if they want to win a championship.

This sucks..!!!I really wanted the Cav's to beat the Celtics and the Laker's on there way to win the title. It just wouldn't be as fun to beat the Magic and Nuggets.

The NBA is salivating over a potential Lebron/Kobe Finals matchup. That would draw monster TV ratings....

I wouldn't mind seeing a Lebron/Carmelo finals matcuup. The two guys drafted in the same year, back to back, playing for the NBA championship. If Melo takes the Nuggets to the Finals, he would really elevate his status to one of the top five best players in the league. The Lakers will have their hands full with the Nuggets if they beat Houston. Billups is such an outstanding player.

the lakers have Fisher and bynum which at this point are pathetic, bynum is a bum.
i actually prefer if houston wins the series, lakers dont deserve it, then again, its at LA so its a blowout.

Bynum had zero points.  Pathetic.

But keep in mind the Celtics had two seven game series on their way to a championship last year, including their first round series against a sub-500 Hawks team.

I like underdog's as well but I don't think I could follow a sport if I didn't have a rooting interest in a specific team.

i hated Jordan when he was in his prime, but his last year in Chicago 98' i was amazed at what he could do and accomplished. I always hated the popular teams, like the Cowboys when they were winning all their Championships, along with the Rams and New England and the Shaq and Kobe Lakers, though i liked that Rick Fox and Fisher got rings. i think the over exposure just gets to me.
When Montana was a 49er i hated him, the next season when people said he was washed up in KC i rooted for him.
I have a hard time watching the NBA during the regular season.

I have the same mindset.I guess you have to though if your a Cleveland fan Cav's,browns,Indians love um to death.Even if they were to never win anything.that's something these frontrunner/fair weather fans could never fathom.

how?
i expect nothing but the best from LA from now on, maybe billups can torch fisher, but carmelo is a high schooler against kobe.

for starters, it took la 7 games to close out this series against and undersized and overpowered rockets squad. They were scrappy and crafty but were serious not in la's class.

second, gasol is soft. Nene and chris anderson and kmart will make WORK of pau gasol and bynum. Carmelo can put up equal points kobe can, billups will do whatever he wants and jr will rain 3's from 30ft out. Overall I see no way the lakers can win the series, im sure it will be competitive, but i dont see the lakers winning with their non commitment on defense.

I like denvers chances.

good post man.
we can go back and forth but will let this rest.
my stance on it is the lakers will learn there mistakes, if gasol plays like he did tonight and bynum can rebound they wont even need bryant launching 20 footers with 3 defenders on him.

lakers in 5

That's about how I see it.  LA matches up very well with Denver.  I think they have won something like 11 out of the last 12, including the last 2 or 3 after the Billips trade.  LA also beat Denver by a bunch when Denver was on a 10+ game winning streak.

Regarding Cavs v. Magic, I'd give the edge to the Magic.  They handled the Cavs this year and I think they have better overall talent.
