I was reading 0-60 magazine, that in Dubai, new is better because of several reasons. People are judged by how new the car is, and that everybody wants the newst thing out. And that if a car is over three yrs old, they can't sell it for a profit. Could it be the same way in Saudi Arabia? Here in the states, old cars very much appreciated. If a guy has a old Ferrari, he's seen as not just somebody with money, but somebody who actually knows his cars. A true enthusiast. Also Old cars are very much appreciated for their power and their aesthetics.

Having Old car shows or Muscle car shows is part of American culture. The Car in American Culture is liken to the Horse in Mongolian culture or our Plains Indians culture. One is not seperate from the other.

what you read is true. for example, you will only see Ferrari f430s and never modenas. you never know where all tens of modenas disappeared into. same goes for previous Lamborghini gallardos and every other sport car. everyone gets rid of their car as soon as the new model is out, even if the car had just a face lift! it's very sad to be honest.

we don't have the same way of thinking when it comes to older models. i was told that i would make quadruple the price if i considered selling my previous Ferrari in Europe or the US, and i realized that when i checked similar priced models overseas. used sport cars here are very cheap compared to everywhere else.

Ksa, what do you think of the X6M and X5M?

one of my friends bought the x6. i was impressed with it's power, but i really didn't like the seats, all of them were very uncomfortable, and the rear seats space was too small for such a big car!. and i laughed when i saw the shitty rear camera quality(such minor issues are important if i'm buying a 100k car). i didn't really like it and neither did my other friends.

but if you ask me about the M powered ones my opinion will be the same for both.

1:they'll be too expensive.
2:why would anyone buy a car that big and that heavy if they seek performance. some can argue that you may want size and luxury with performance as a plus, but i don't find that to be a valid on an jeep like car.

3:will anyone go off-road in a X5M  ;D i don't think so. that beats the idea of buying one innit?

what are your thoughts of the new Cadillac CTS-V?

look at what that James Colburn's 1962 Ferrari went for
http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2008/05/james-coburn-owned-ferrari-brings-record-price.html

You see there is true appreciation for these vehicles old or new. I guess where you are at people, have tons of money, and there is no need for the appreciation of old vehicles, but the craving for something new. I would like to see someone who has a car collection showing the evolution of the V8 Ferrari. From the 308 on up to the F430 (and soon F500). It shows that you not only appreciate the Ferrari marque, but the engineering prowess as well. That's why I like Jay Leno's Garage videos. He has the old with the new.

as far as the X6M and X5M, well, Porsche has the Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S, and Land Rover has the Range Rover Sport (now with 500 HP) and   Mercedes has the ML63 AMG and GL63 AMG. It's odd how BMW didn't get in the game earlier. So there is market-for a BMW X6M that hit 0-60 in 4.1 secs (real time) ;D. Plus, it will be a proving ground for the next M5 (F10 5 series) engine.

WTF do you care about money for when mommy and daddy are paying your way through life. Don't tell me they don't, you haven't been alive long enough to have earned the money it takes to drive the cars you have mentioned owning. So either you are a drug dealer or mommy and daddy are spoon feeding you lifesyle, I say the latter.

The CTS -V is a Beast!!! It has the Production 4 door record on the 'Ring. Has beaten the Lord of all Sport Sedans, the M5, in several tests. And out acellerates and outperforms it.  A Sure fire beast.

2 diff cultures. In the states it is looked upon as less than manly to let your paretns take care of your finances after  the age of 18.  Bsacially Independence is bred into us from day one or the day the Declaration of Independence was written ;D.

Family based Middle Eastern cultures may not understand that concept.

I've driven twin turbo powered cars and supercharged , if heat is a problem with you , you'd be better off with intercooled turbos ... I like the instant power of a supercharger however turbo technology has improved so much lag is almost nonexistent , it's a matter of preference and driving style

do you have a car -pc that makes a scratchy sound, to alert you that hulkster posted in the truce? ;D

You're not making any sense apparently due to your lack of education, no surprise. Everything I have said is true and you are grasping at straws. Why don't you run home to mommy and she can make everything all better for you. You have accomplished nothing on your own and that makes you much less of a man. Take that to your grave.

I've had to work hard for everything I have ever gotten.  There is a sense of accomplishment in that, if nothing else. There are those that have not had to do the same.  Such is life, which we should all know by now.   I don't feel a need to hate a person just because they have had an easier path than I.

From what I gather, ksa_triceps has simply been trying to discuss cars, which I can appreciate, as I enjoy fast cars myself.  If he were trying to be arrogant in doing so, I might understand the disdain being showed, but I don't sense that he is.  And bringing race into the mix only denigrates things further.
