That was a very entertaining game until the 3rd. Malkin's 3rd goal was incredible. Carolina seems to be having to work too hard to get shots and are just gassed at the ends of periods and especially in the 3rd, when they need it.

yes that goal is one of the best i've ever seen, there aren't too many guys with skills like that

the pens play a much more aggresive defensive system under bylsma, therrien's passive system did well against a weak eastern conference last season but looked bad against detroit

his system will get the pens out of the stronger east and then give detroit a MAJOR battle

pens take a 3 - 0 series lead after dominating the canes 6 -2

it was 3 - 1 going into the 3rd period, joe corvo is interviewed at intermission and he sounded like he was attending a friends funeral, he and maybe his entire team seemed like they gave up

after that performance i think the pens sweep and head back to the cup final

Couldn't agree more. Corvo looked whooped....sad. It really doesn't matter, Pitts is just that much better.

that interview shocked me, carolina seemed to have so much heart and grit

one players menality can affect the entire team, if he felt gloom and doom many of the rest did too

I wonder if the bad turnover he had at center ice right before the end of the period played into it, but still, you are right. Carolina has been getting by on guts and effort and to see that was disturbing as a fan.

Both Conference Finals are boaring to watch.

Detroit VS. Pitt once again and Pittsburgh is all Healthy and Hungry which does not bode well for my Wings.

Hopefully Detroit will put up a better fight this time but i have Tivo'ed Pitts games and they just look like they are dominating everyone and that they are on a mission.

yes last year crosby had a bad ankle and malkin was battling an illness against the wings

they were inexperienced kids last year, they are still kids but they've been around the block and are very very hungry

PENS SWEEP THE CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i expected this to go 6 or 7 games before the series started, i guess the pens were better than i thought

without hossa and ryan malone this pens team looks worse on paper, but i think they are better

every player on the roster has improved since last year, they also have the experience

who can forget fleury tripping as the pens came on to the ice last year in game 1? they won't be in awe like last year

when they won today they were all business, last year they were too giddy and those teams always seem to lose the title game

detorit is the favorite but the pens know exactly what to expect this time

Pitts looks great. Nothing but respect for them. The Canes were running on fumes but it wouldn't have mattered.

Do not worry about Hossa as he has not even showed up in the playoffs. I just want Lidstrom and Datsuyk ready for Saturday. I kinda wonder why we are playing Saturday and Sunday night.

Sorry Earl but that is a stupid idea and i have the Pens in 6 but maybe 5 games.

Detroit is injured and in my most humble opinon, not hungry and they look lazy and the Pens look like they are on a mission.

that said, My Wings are looking Old

Earl, the Wings got outplayed and out hustled and looked pathetic out there.

Osgood looked like crap and it showed

My wings are playing a lackluster game and i am very dissapointed with their perfromance.

Marian Hossa is only good at skating and nothing else and he does not deserve a ring.

Our best player is out and it showed and the Fourth line looked crappy

Pens are younger and faster. They need to out-work and out-hustle the Red Wings every inch of the ice today.

Make the older team coming off a back to back work hard for everything.

I played their once and it is weird but we need to get to the basics, Detroit was outplayed and looked terrible out there.

I can see why you let Marian Hossa go.

Detroit played like an old team and it showed and with a back to back game coming up tonight....not feeling so good about this game.

Pavel is likely out the entire series because of a broken bone in his foot.
