former steelers coach bill cowher was born and raised in pittsburgh but now lives in raleigh

he blows their warning siren before the games and i'm hearing he now supports the canes over his hometown pens

a lot of people in the burgh have a problem with this and i can see why

at the same time i think it makes sense for him to support the canes

clearly he didn't want to live in the burgh anymore, if you don't like the city how do people support their teams?

so many people that would NEVER live in pittsburgh or abandon it because of the weather still tell everybody they know in whatever warm climate they moved to that they are a steelers fan ::)

I'm not going to talk trash, but everybody has continued to pick against the Canes, so I hope they keep it up....

they played hard and came very close to tieing it up, they had trouble getting shots off for most of the 3rd period

My bud is a "HUGE" Cane fan and i was shocked as how boaring of a game that i saw. I really wanted to fucking go to sleep due to no physical activity and if next game is like this, i'm out.  8)

Solid first game.  Canes HAVE to get going early and quit waiting to the 3rd or OT in every game before they get it going.  Eric doesn't miss an open net very often that close in, so they could have tied it late.

Not to be a dick but do you really think a major reason people don't like the city of Pittsburgh is because of the weather??

It's definitely sports or nothing.

I used to feel the same way about Baltimore. The city was a major fucking dump up until about 4 years ago. Since then, the area outside of M&T bank stadium and Camden Yards(outside of Fells point and the inner harbour) has improved dramatically. Gone are all of the low income housing and most of the row homes. In it's place are a more than three dozen new businesses, new buildings and novelty shopping. Truly an upscale renovation that warrants pride if you have the money and luxury of living downtown. The Baltimore inner harbour skyline is as impressive as ever and i'm proud to represent that city. Baltimore is definitely "thriving" more than ever.

I also happen to think that the smell of my own shit is not that bad. However, other people have told me otherwise. That's about the best metaphor I can think for someone who lives in Pittsburgh and defends their homeland.

Desperation? The Ravens are one of the best organizations in the NFL and you cannot deny that.

My team has a Superbowl title in their 14 year existence and few NFL titles beofre the Colts left town. The Steelers went 25 YEARS without a championship. 2008 is old news. I'm looking ahead to the 2009 season.

Subjective, over the last decade I'd say Pats vs Colts is up there, if not first.  The reason I say this is because both team were gunning for sb's every year.   The Ravens have stunk a lot since 01.  Flacco will change that, though.
