Tom only trains once or twice a week, to be as healthy as he can given his circumstances....

No....he loaded up the bar at the bottom position and started his reps from there....if anyone wants to see how hard that is, go ahead and try it....always made me laugh

For his normal sets or for his max sets?  That would be crazy if he did that with 495+.

ANY and ALL sets....including 495...thats what made it impressive.  I could never do it...I had to start at the top, not that I was anywhere near his strength

so....we have a man who can do almost record settings sets...who makes his money off of his 'muscular' public image...in a bodybuilding world known for publicizing exaggerated lifts...and nobody decided that videotaping these Herculean feats would be a good idea?

Interesting...

Tom never gave a shit about that...I'm sure now he wishes he would have documented it for his own benefit. He never cared what anyone else thought.  That said, there were plenty of people who saw him lift in person.

Joe Deangelis confirmed it to me; that Tom was freakishly strong.  "Strongest person (he) ever trained with."  And Joe was always into power/strongman type stuff.

All true....I've seen many a pro train...TP was amongst the strongest, Johhnie Jackson and certainly Ronnie

His claim of slow steady movement was also true...ZERO swinging. The other thing that always amazed me was that he started his movements from the BOTTOM ( imagine starting a incline press from the bottom of the movement)...

Why was his movements so smooth and thought out yet his drug use/personal life so reckless? I don't mean to take a shot at him, its just when a person is so analytical is one part of his/her life, it usually means all facets of their life...

tom was actually taped on a discovery show documentary about bodybuilding incline pressing well over 400 pounds for many reps.. you might be able to find it on the web.. i also witness smith machine overhead presses for numerous reps (all mid range) at , i believe, 365.. he did at least 11 or more.. and that is no exaggeration or lie.. there was even a guy photographing it (steve neece i think)..

i'd have to see the 545x2 incline, 200 pound db's for 8 incline and the 495x5 shoulder press for myself, the rest i believe, the man was 300 pounds offseason at around 5'8".
same here ....

bs on a few ...a little inflated

many pro's agreed tom was insanely strong

I still see Ronnie as the strongest

swinging or not

his 200 X 11-12 presses are just mindbogling

Dude was a fucking freak no doubt.

Im amazed that he hansä't killed himself or something,

Going from 300 pounds to 180 and never being able to use roids or anything again must take a big fucking toll on the mind.

I mean, Levrone etc, can juice up if he wanted to, Tom can't.
