um,  you need to read more.   Its commonly used in men with infertility problems in place of LH.  its also used as an adjunct therapy for legitimate hypogonadism.

Also, does it say anywhere who or where this doctor was?

Personaly, I think baseball needs to quit this shit and hang Selig from a high tree.  I want to see players smack homeruns. They are making millions for nothing now.  This soap opera crap is killing the sport for me.

I read quite a bit, thanks.  Do You honestly think Manny was using hcg because he had naturally low testosterone levels or are you just trying to be argumentative?

Also, Yes it does say somewhere who or where this doctor was, Ramirez said he went to his own physician, not a team-affiliated doctor.  That was in one of the articles that I "read".  See, i do read.

You obviously have some issues you need to take care of.

And again you are incorrect.

I don't know what issues you think I need to take care of, I simply disagree with you.  He tested positive for a banned substance that is mostly used by men as a steroid ancillary.  I'm sorry if you don't like my answer.

I agree the HCG thing is BS IMO.  Does anyone know what they really found?  It says they found HCG, or is that just the (Medical prescription) excuse Ramirez used to explain thru the roof test levels?  Yes they are both banned substances, but HCG would not carry the stigma with it that steroids would.

Apparently when he was tested his testosterone levels were described as "very high" by MLB, but it was not a positive for testosterone, just a red flag.  When they invesigated further they found some kind of paperwork indicating he had been using hcg.  I don't know what the paperwork was but Manny did not appeal the suspension.  Manny came out and said it was not a Dodgers' doctor who had given him the drug, but rather he had gone to a doctor not affiliated with the team and THAT doctor had written him this RX and thus he tested positive.

These guys were all told explicitly what was banned under the new "aggressive" steroid policy. Also, they have world-class Doctors working for each team that they can use for any variety of issues, so why would he go to someone else?  Ramirez is just a simpleton.

Just to play devils advocate here----lets say he was taking it for infertility issues or associated with hypogonadism....

With the media the way it is now days, if you were in his shoes, would you want them finding out that you are shooting blanks or worse yet that you had low testosterone levels?   I doubt it seriously if the team doctors have anything to do with fertility issues, although I still haven't read exactly what kind of doctor he went to see--a GP, a fertility specialist, a quack on 42nd and broadway.

Theres more to this than what we are being told.

HCG is prescribed as a fertility drug for women.

they ban Manny for 50 games for using it

now if some unemployed, unmarried female wanted to get knocked up for the 4th time, by another different guy, i am sure she could get a script for it (paid for by working people)

and for the next 18 years the same working people would pay for her bastard child

the logic of society escapes me

just out of curiousity has anyone here ever heard of prisoners taking prenatal pills cause of the HCG in them to help keep and or add size???  i have heard this b4 but i thought it was bs...anyways ive never really liked manny i mean he gets paid an ungodly amount of money to swing at a ball with a stick and he doesnt even put 100% effort...there are some professional athletes that earn their money
(although still ridiculously too much) by playing their asses off
