I bet half the guys here who are crying at the "injustice" don't give a second thought about the poor, defenseless cow that was slaughtered, to be made into the burger they eat or the chicken that was slaughtered to be made into the drumstick they like. It's cruel to kill an animal, but basically, it's a form of life and is no different than felling a tree or fishing.

As for NYC who says that animal populations can't go out of control due to "natural balance" - those are words spoken by someone who is totally ignorant of Ecology. There are tons of recorded cases of various animals and plants and even algal species that grow to an extent that made/make it impossible for competing species to thrive, as a result of which they died/die out. In a lot of those cases, the whole ecosystem's food chain and biological profile undergoes massive changes and extinction of species have occurred cause they no longer had the resources they needed due to the over-dominant organism consuming it all.

Don't make up generic statements about things like "natural balance" just because it sounds more romantic and benign. Nature is just as cruel as humans can be.

I give you that it's sad to see an animal like that killed just for the heck of it. But a) The meat was fed to 500 people and b) It's not the first time it's happened nor is it going to be the last. Game hunting has been around for as long as humans have been around and it isn't just hunters who kill animals - I don't have to tell you how animals kill and feed on each other as dictated by their nature.

A lot of the people here are rolling their eyes cause they think that the original challenge was about killing an elephant at close range, but it was more about her being able to draw the bow with it's pull that's 4 times what Olympic athletes use. I'm just saying that it's funny how the same guys who are making a big deal out of it wouldn't bat an eyelid over say, someone fishing and bragging about the size of their catch.

The elephant being "defenseless" is absurd - this is how animals are hunted in the wild and the fact that the woman did it with a bow & arrow instead of using a gun is what made it a news item. Otherwise, we wouldn't have heard about it cause it's being done on a daily basis and on a large scale, to several different animals all over the world.

Here is what can happen when 'week-end-warriors' fuck it up (yeah, European great White hunter indeed).

I was rooting for the Lion every-time, where it not for a lucky shot in - BOTH - CASES - these fuckers would have had 220KG of fucking furious Lion chewing on their necks.
Hitting a moving target is - NOT - very easy, both of these last shots were pot luck, the 2'nd was from the hip no less.
I so wanted to see this lot get fucked up by their stupidity.
The first vid = the Lion in mid flight before he get's hit - had that shot missed, the guy would have been dead !! I WISH.

often times.. when someone catches a large fish.. a trophy fish.. they kill it, stuff it and hang it on their wall at home.

then they show it to all of their friends and get congratulated on the *kill*
