Anything of substance that adds to this?
This may be where Wavelegth has things down pat...
In regards to only being able to eat clean for a certain period of time, for some it may be beneficial to use the "Wavelength/Adonis" principles 2 or 3 days out of a week just to reduce the 'craving' factor while still keeping calories in check. Thus, enabling someone to maintain or continue dropping bodyfat due to low caloric levels. Using this method would essentially be utilizing the best of both worlds.
I have three separate eating phases over the course of the year. 1) eating pretty much eat anything I want, 2) eating very clean, nutrient dense super foods and 3) low carb/high protein/moderate fat.
Phase 1 is when I'm not too engaged in my training and more focused on other stuff. I'm in the gym 3-4x week and even take several weeks off. This past year I took all of Jan & Feb off. Phase 2 is when I'm focused on improving my health. I train with weights 3-4x week, do a lot of conditioning & some yoga. Phase 3 is when I feel the need to put on size and lean out. I train 4x week with weights and do cardio 5-7x week.
My weight fluctuates throughout the year from as low as 190lbs to as high as 215lbs. Usually at 215 I'm a lot leaner than at 190 becasue that's when I'm training for getting bigger/leaner.
