You ate too much.

I doubt it.  I don't have a naturally large appetite and I'm usually so busy during my work day, that I have to make a conscious effort to not forget to eat breakfast & lunch.  

Bottom line is, when I want to get big and shredded, I INCREASE my calories, eat more frequently, jack up the protein, play around with the carbs and eat plenty of good fats.  It works every time.

Funny thing is what is common knowledge on other, much bigger boards still seems to be a great revelation on getbig.

Seriously, it's the calorie in/out theory that is archaic....

Well, that's because you're not consuming less than your daily BMI. It's too simple!  ;)

I'm guessing it's the fact that the few calories I am consuming come primarily from food that is ladened with sugar and devoid of an quality protein.

Yes of course. My argument is this:

Consume enough protein and reduce your total intake until desired rate of weight loss is maintained. I guarantee you, body composition will not suffer, regardless of what you eat.

This is common knowledge among scientifically oriented nutritionists.

He also thinks that foods can be categorized in two realms, Junk food and "Clean" food.  This is simply not possible as he is not judging foods by content at all or energy equivalence, but instead by colloquial modern food mythology with no basis in fact.

Nothing against MindSpin, he is just dead wrong in his assertions and assumptions.

Very true, there simply is no scientific definition of the term "junk food", rendering the term completely meaningless.

Side Note: I just bought 5 Cheeseburgers from Burger King.  I eat 2 at a time as each are 340 calories and 19 grams of protein apiece.


So we are looking at 38 grams of protein and 680 calories.
30% Calcium
12 % Vitamin A
40 % Iron
4 % Vitamin C

Not bad at all.

Agreed. Unless Mindspin weighed and meticulously tracked his calories it's hard to know how much he was eating. Way more than he thinks most likely.
