P90X is bad ass!
« on: May 16, 2009, 09:41:28 PM »
I usually wouldn't try anything like this but since a friend of mine gave it to me I tried it out.  I've only been using it for a week but I'm damn sore and it's a nice break from running all the time.  If anyone is considering trying it out I would say go for it.

Of course. Serious program if you do the work and aren't shy about bringing the intensity.

This type of circuit training is excellent for people who want to get ready for police, fireman, forest departments physical examines. etc. Also before going into the military. In any case, you want an edge and here it is.

Becoming a lean muscled, fat burning machine, with stamina you never believe you would ever have, can even appeal to some BB'ers. You will have muscle that will stay with you. Not to worry like taking off 2 or 3 weeks from BB'ing workouts and losing a lot in quality muscle. Actually false pumped up muscle. Good Luck.

That used to be true, but for a long while now there's also been some good products mixed in with the usual garbage. Case-by-case.

General rule of thumb; most anything that Billy May's yells about, should be avoided.  The ShamWow guy comes next.

Most fitness crap (it's just that) should be avoided if seen on TV. Larger malls have a As Seen On TV style store where you can check out a few of those exercises devices, if your lucky. Most of that stuff is low grade plastic, badly designed and not meant to last but a little bit longer than your third and final payment of $39.95. A majority of those company's are out side the U.S. and will run ads on mainland TV, magazines and papers. Many class actions against their products, by kind of hopeless in the long run. Buyer Beware.

A friend of mine downloaded (torrent) the whole P90X workout program. Pretty solid training program, though many different forms of these style workouts have been used for years. Good investment in training time and effort if stamina, strength and lean muscle mass is your goal. But than again, not meant for everyone's goals .Good luck.

yeah well im always weary of infomercials claiming to get you in the best shape of your life...all things considered these programs are prob good provided you have a pretty good diet...some, not all, tv workouts claim you'll see results in 4 weeks....my nuts hurt when i hear this b/c as we all know your diet is the most important thing you need to get straight first...you can weigh 400 lbs and do these tv routines and see no results if you dont manage your diet...a buddy of mine does cardio, weight training, the whole nine yards, and doesnt see any difference, but this same guy eats fried food in the weee hours of the morning and expects to lose weight?!?!....the first couple of weeks are always the hardest but you have to give yourself a fair chance...bad diets=bad/sub par results

Exactly...I was in the military for 8 years, then I got out and got fat so after 3 years time to get back in shape...  I'm having good results and like the training a lot and it does remind me of what I did while in the military.

My wife bought the first disc.  If you stick to the program it works pretty well.  However after watching the video over and over again, I have noticed how Tony seems to sexually harras his backup dancers ( even if they are dudes ).  I couldn't stand to watch that crap any longer.  If you are thinking of buying it Don't!  For those in the know Bit Torrent is your Friend.  Else you might get caught up into beachbody's auto bill program that is near impossible get off.

You sound like you spent a whole lot more time watching repeats than doing, now want to pass judgement from your rocking chair lol listen do it then get back with an informed opinion of YOU doing it. I don't believe your appraisal for a minute-it works for those who work.
