Only "libs" think Abe was a great president?  ???

Abe Lincoln was responsible for the deaths of more Americans and destruction than any other single person in all of history.

Decades of bullshit have led people to believe he was a great president. One of the best, matter of fact.

Serious, with all the new taxes, mandates, and all of the bubbles having been burst, where is there any growth going to come from?

There wont be a recovery.  There will be a bottoming out at some point, followed by a sustained recession at much lower levels than most people were used to.

Exponential recovery is virtually inevitable since negative growth was an overreaction of the market. Technology has given businesses the ability to move incredibly swiftly in anticipation of market trends. Every American recession has been followed closely by a period of explosive growth-a large part of it due to  a basic "correction" of the business economy.

Technology is a huge factor in the life cycle of this recession. It was the cause of the massive bleed in jobs and I also believe it is going to delay the rebound. But, I think the upturn will mirror the downturn in that there will be steady hiring en masse once the economy stabilizes fully.

Wouldn't that honor go to Abraham Lincoln?  You know, the president that you libs hail as the best ever?

Hereford, maybe it's time to crack open a history book. He was the first Republican president.

weak.

it's like the guy who rapes and kills 20 orphans.

then lives a quiet, normal life for 7.5 years afterwards.

he can't get to court and ask the judge for praise for the 7.5 years he was a good boy.

Biggest loss of civilian life in US history happened because Bush and RUmmy and Condi all set down that Aug 5 memo without reading it - and they all admit it.  They all told the 911 commission they were handed it - but did not open it.

How come the person who sent the memo did not make sure that they got some sort of confirmation they received it and that those 3 understood the magnitude of the plot?  Seems like a bunch of people dropped the ball.  But yes ultimately it is the Top brass fault.

Bush was on vacation and a person from the CIA flew to TX and personally gave him the memo:

Here's an excerpt from the One Percent Doctrine:
-----------
The book's opening anecdote tells of an unnamed CIA briefer who flew to Bush's Texas ranch during the scary summer of 2001, amid a flurry of reports of a pending al-Qaeda attack, to call the president's attention personally to the now-famous Aug. 6, 2001, memo titled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US." Bush reportedly heard the briefer out and replied: "All right. You've covered your ass, now."
----------

after the memo was hand delivered Bush remained on vacation and there is no documentation that there were any discussions of a pending terrorist attack

Condi admitted under oath that Bush handed her the memo.  She didn't read it.  She handed it to Rummy, who couldn't recall who he gave it to, but he didn't read it either.

This is a big deal when they FLY you a memo to hand deliver it and the title is "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US".

THIS is why so many people believe it was allowed to happen.  Yeah, you can say it was just an 'intelligence failure'.  But flying a document in with that much fanfare, and not even reading it?

That's the whole source of your conspiracy? Come on, they probably look at 100+ documents every day. There are hundreds of terrorist plots out there at any given time. Was it a massive intelligence failure on their part? Yes. Were they staging some sort of grand conspiracy to let thousands of Americans die so they can waste trillions of dollars on an useless war? Doubt it.

Rob - you have to at least consider the possibility of GROSS INCOMPETENCE

I think there is something strange about 911 too but for some reason I don't think "W" was in the loop

Yeah, this speaks volumes.   As soon as they received this they should have shut the country down.   ::)

well if he couldn't cut his vacations short at the very least they could have talked about it with Condi and Rummy over a couple of O'Douls.

instead there's no record of any discussion on the topic
