What you are saying would make sense if we were dealing with a logical and rational leader in North Korea. We aren't so most of the standard playbook doesn't apply.

And I don't think the stage is being set for an attack. I think there is a lot of fear, speculation and lousy reporting. Fearmongering and sensationalism makes money and grabs ratings.
