Have bodybuilders recovered from the recession?
« on: June 19, 2009, 08:15:10 PM »
If the United States does not begin to fix healthcare and begin to manufacture and use clean energy, we are in for a long recession and if it has not happened already not already, the US will loose its superpower status to China in a few years. The US has been investing and prospering on unstable ideals. If they dont begin to manufacture renewable energy and invest in science and tech the US will never recover from this recession.

The US is still is the only nation where free enterprise can still thrive and no other country can say the same. The US provides the opportunity to its citizens to build a successful business. However, regulations are needed to maintain the ethical and longevity of businesses and not allow CEOs to bring down the system to make a boat load of cash at the expense of investors and tax payers and the overall economy. WE have allowed too much freedom to CEOS and businesses and we have deregulated our economy, thanks to the Bush admin.

We as a nation have invested our money too much in the finance sector and in other countries(ie. Iraq). We need to pay more attention to investing at home and producing plants that can produce reusable energy(ie solar, electric etc). In addition, our money needs to be invested domestically in science and technology. In order to solve the problems, we need to first clean up our debt and invest in healthcare, education, science and tech, and renewable fuel and set standards that will ensure integrity in businesses and have a 0 tolerance to fraud and unethical practices.

Nice post. Everyone is living on credit, which is a problem. Soceity has set us up to fail, just look at the banks. If you cant pay your credit debts the whole system fails.

the gold reserves ran out in the 70's.  when asked in college what stands behind the dollar, our economics professor said "the good faith of the american people".

so as long as we believe in every dollar printed, it's worth something.

You're a moron. Let's just print enough money to give everyone a million dollars so we can all be rich. That will work, right?

That is referred to as The Tinkerbell Effect.  The same can be applied to Gold or any other standard as it is simply an anthropocentric value not based in anything other than humans made the whole thing up.

Kind of like god and religion.

Single Payer is the only viable option to fix healthcare.  HR 676 Conyers/Kucinich bill.  As long as there is a for-profit system the United States will remain 37th in the world in Healthcare behind Morocco or even worse.

The problem is an uneducated and easily fooled public.

first lets make sure that there will be human beings alive in the centuries to come before we start to worry about the standard of living in those centuries.

you know... that whole rising carbon levels in the atmosphere thing... that little thing that will kill every human on earth unless all carbon emissions are stopped within a few years.

It's basic economics. Supply and demand. Say they print more money and we all have more in the bank than we did before. First currency is just an accepted form of trade for goods and services. You can spend that money on food, clothes, housing, etc. There's more money, but not more items to purchase, so what happens? The prices of those products rise, because the demand increases. Which causes inflation.

Or the US prints more money and pays off all their debts (bonds, treasuries, etc). Then the value of the dollar decreases versus foreign currency causing the price of those products to rise, but the wages of US workers don't rise, so all products cost more while we make the same.

Once the value of the dollar decreases relative to other countries currency then things get even worse. Because we get so many products from foreign trade (think of all the items you have from outside the US) all foreign products become more expensive. The US Bonds which is the loans the US are paying would decrease in value and the foreign investors would sell those causing the value of the dollar to continue to decrease.

That's just the beginning of things that would happen.

Settle down champ, we are only years away from Type 1 civilization; which includes planetary climat control (stratospheric sulfur injection being one of them).

The current economic "realignment" and establishment of the "world order" is simply gearing us towards being able to achieve these technological advancements.

Moore's Law applied at a global scale.

climate control huh ? i suppose getting carbon levels low and keeping them that way, even with super high carbon emissions... some kind of recyling system wich changes carbon to something else i guess... that would be the easy part... but how about reversing all the effects that the carbon has already had? besides the fact that theres zero guarantee of gainign technology to get and keep normal carbon levels

Money creation is certainly not that simple.  You are disregarding Fractional-Reserve banking and ignoring Empirical measures Ms M0-M3.

It should've been discarded in the first place, along with usury.

The whole system is a joke, and a bad one at that.
