The SIDE TRICEP Pose and it's Variations
« on: July 04, 2009, 03:31:46 PM »
As with the other mandatory poses, the side tricep is performed with a number of subtle twists and interpretations

indeed, many are so unique that they are immediately associated with a particular bber

the first variation is Dorian's as pictured below

next up is the more common variation with both feet planted beside one another, highlighting the hams

this can be performed with fingers locked or with one hand wrapped around the wrist of the other (not pictured)

Flex Wheeler would twist his body so that it was hardly a side shot at all

I always thought this variation was ill-advised since you can't see the tricep very well

for whatever reason, Vince Taylor would hit his tricep shots without his arms together

a lot of bbers throw this variation down before transitioning into the more common pose

a slight twist on the Vince Taylor would be Jay's double tricep

Cuts has been hitting this pose since at least 2003

for as long as I can remember, Ronnie would hit this shot before transitioning into the full side tricep pose

great thread. i like these, we need more threads like this.

the side tricep is to high light the whole body, not just the tricep...as the name would have you believe. how you hit the pose would depend on your bodys strength and weaknesses.

i prefer the vince taylor type of side tricep pose.

i prefer the vince taylor type of side tricep pose.

I think it should be done after the full side tricep pose

like an exclamation mark before moving on to the next mandatory

The Kozo Sudo version.
Looks like he modeled it on the classic Bill Pearl shot.

VINCE TAYLOR always did it that way,he had great lines to pull it off with capped delts to great tris, his arms are awesome in general.yates is pretty much owning most with the classic version due to his hardness ,his body aligned top to bottom great on that pose.
