i played for 6 years competitively when i was a kid.. age 4-10... im still okay at it... although im nothing cmpared to the mexicans in the area who play everyday

I was naturally good at soccer, but only played in competitive leagues for a couple of years, one in college, one in the military.

There were many afternoon pick-up games that were quite fun, but never could it compare to football.

what do you guys mean by decent or good at soccer?

defense or offense... ?

personally... if im playing against someone who is a good ball handler... its over.. i cant defend or get past any one who is really fast and has great control over their feet..

however im pretty damn good at ball handling my self, as long as i have a bit of space... but thats just it..a good soccer player wont let you have space or time to handle the ball...

if im playing against somebody who desnt play it competitvely, i can juke them pretty good, make em stumble... and theyll never get past me unless they are super super fast and smart enough to kick the bal past me then ru to it..

When I was growing up only the faggy, preppy, rich kids played soccer. The better athletes played football, baseball, basketball and were not from well-to-do families. This was in South Carolina and it was a blatant observation. It was'nt until I went to college on a baseball scholarship that I recognized soccer players as true athletes. Hell, I even went to a few soccer games. But, funny thing is that the guys on soccer scholarships were'nt from well-off, affluent families.
