That is from Der Muskelbilder (issue 21, summer 1964), which published the reports of the 3 contests that Arnold entered in April  '64.

None taken!  :)

I'll be the first to tell you his magazine collection beats mine for the fact that he has these old German magazines of Arnold in them. I envy him!

And yes, it would be very cool to post more pics.  8)

Here is a pic of the infamous Rolf Putziger (bald man with glasses) that Arnold referred to as 'Mr. Schneck' in his autobiography book who tried to get Arnold to do 'Gay for Pay' when he was young.

I think I read that Albert Busek has taken 40,000 photos of Arnold.

I'm sure VERY many! You have to keep in mind that he usually had his two main photographers, Albert Busek and George Butler, capturing him every step of the way through his bodybuilding days. Rest assure that we have NOT seen them all.

I would LOVE to see Albert's collection! The man has taken pics of Arnold since he was 18!  :o

It needs quite a bit of updating. For all recent updates, pics galore and insights on Arnold's career from lots of knowledgeable contributors, I recommend www.ironhistory.com

All of the pics on GMV's web site are from English language magazines (H&S, Peak, Flex etc), books ('Education of a BB', Wendy Leigh, 'Arnold's encyclopaedia') or Arnold's old training booklets. One is a screen cap from PI and another a cap from a UK documentary.

Thanks, Feizai! I hadn't read Wendy's book in quite some time and didn't recall whether his 'death' was mentioned or not. I was wondering if Rolf was alive too.

Feizai, do you live in the US or overseas that enables you to obtain all these German mags?

I think that Arnold might have had the best receptors - genetics-  testosterone reponder of all time... Truth is that he never trained naturally... probably he didn't have enough drive to try himself, without the drugs...

alas...
I remember that book because Arnold was not gonna be co-operating in the writing of it and he was none to subtle about letting people around Hollywood know that if they did help her he would would be most displeased (Read: cut off your nuts). He pulled a lot of water even back then, and most people clammed up.
