wish I could find that pic from the mid 70s of him jogging in the Vinces Gym tank top.    He had lost all his size hoping to get into the movies
I know I have it somewhere buried in a box with a few hundred old mags from the past....by the way, some very cool pics..I thought I had seen them all...guess not.

I do it for you Getbiggers.  8)

But those jerkoffs over at Ironage and Raw-Iron (arnoldplatz, Jake, KSA, etc.) never give me credit when they 'borrow' my pics.

Pollux is a Getbig treasure.

Thanks, Feizai. But I think you're the biggest treasure here when it comes to Arnold's younger years. Nobody realizes who you are.  ;)

By the way, is this another one of the issues you own...?

The time to take and upload pics from my personal collection of magazines/books, etc. = my pics.

Just give me credit is all I'm asking.

Pollux...if Helmut beat Arnold there, as it says...why do we not hear of that as one of A's losses?

there is a heavy credit crunch in the world these days
make yourself independently wealthy
then
credit does not matter
credit is overrated
mechanism for the man to keep you under his thumb

Because Arnold says that the first contest he entered was the 1965 Jr. Europe and no one ever bothered to check the German language magazines (or the early English translations in Health & Strength, Ironman etc.).

Exactly! The real Arnold aficionado like Feizai and myself knows that that's not the case. His very first contest goes back farther than that, but for whatever reason these contests have been swept 'under the rug', if you will.

By the way, Feizai, all I can say is WOW! Thanks for posting the above Arnold pic!  :)

Is that pic from the issue you posted above?

yes
great photo
never saw that
Great tan, too

Pollux...so, prior to the 65 Europe, I have seen young pics of A seemingly in strange, 'beer hall'-like places where he is posing in front of bands for an audience. Were these contests as a teen?

You'd know, I'd imagine.

That is from Der Muskelbilder (issue 21, summer 1964), which published the reports of the 3 contests that Arnold entered in April  '64.

Yes. He was a teenager where he would be up against his mentor at the time, Kurt Marnul.
