This is greek to me.

So some old people have better coverage than other old people?  Or are there old people with no coverage?

I thought once you turned 65, you got free healthcare in the USA, like medical welfare existed if you lived long enough?

You are thinking about medicaid, it too is offered to poor people over the age of 65, ( but you must have less than 25,000 of assets )

Very poor people get Medicaid and other seniors get Medicare.

Medicaid requires seniors to spend down their assets before being eligible, but people usually go to clinics, nursing homes, etc.

Medicaid has to be paid by the states and counties whereas the Fed pays for Medicair.  Medicaid is destroying many county budgets because the nursing home costs are huge.

okay.  I'm starting to see the difference now.  I understand very little about this, so i'm learning.

So if obama's bill passes, young people will suddenly have access to the MEDICAID kind of treatment that old people get for free right now?

Who knows, but if you notice, many states are objecting to Obama's plans because it will swell the rolls of medicaid enrollees.  Its a huge unfunded mandate on the states and counties.

240,

medicare "part A"  (Hospital) You earn it, by paying for it (while you worked)

Medicare "part B"  ( Doctors Visits) you pay 96.40 a month for it

Medicare A and B :

You choose your hospital, you choose your doctor, you go in when you want, as often as you want,  If by chance You go to a Doctor, and their is a long line, you find a new one next time.  ( you chose)

you dont need a referral to go to a specialist.

You earned it ( you worked and paid for it)  and it is good.

Medicaid:  for the poor ( including  people age 65 and older)

You have a doctor chosen for you,  you have more red tape,   Clinics that take Medicaid have longer waiting times, you cant just go to a specialist without getting an approval.

 it is free.

Their is a difference in the 2

The reason Seniors are upset and scared :

Under the new Obama care,   Medicare is basically done away with, and everyone is put on something  pretty similar Medicaid. except it is even worse than Medicaid. Allot Worse

240 you have medicaid and medicare confused

You earn Medicare part A by paying for it, for at least 40 quarters ( 10 years)

and you pay 96.40 a month for part B ( Doctors office coverage)

These Seniors have paid into Medicare,( earned it) and now they see that under the Obama care, they might have to give up part of their coverage, ( rationing), so that some  20 yr old illegal alien from Guatemala can get a surgery, as his expected life span is more.

which of the 4 bills being debated is your source for this little nugget?

Use Obama's own words about end of life decisions and the fact that seniors will be better off with a pain pill.

Straw, you can continue to deny reality for only so long.  There is simply no mathmatical equation that does not include massive rationing where you cover 45 million new people, no tort reform, and include all pre-existing conditions.

Why are you answering for James?

Why don't you post the quote from Obama that you're referring to in which "you" or james are drawing the assumption about seniors being denied health care so those funds can be diverted to an illegal alien.

Thanks

I'd have no problem with anyone attending these meetings provided they are from the actual district and don't just shout down people and/or chant so people can't have an actual dialogue.

Some of these groups seem intent on nothing more than shutting down any discussion.   There's no reason people can't express their opinions without shouting, intimidation etc...
LOL yes nobody ever did this before the savior got in office right? LOL only now the outrage?

Ive asked this before to no lefty answer, do you think these ppl yelling and shouting are pointing out things and points of views that others dont feel? you dont think their points are legit? why not address the points?

I'll consider your point of view.

Please show me examples of left wing groups who have the goal of simply shutting down any discussion by yelling and screaming and not allowing an actual conversation.   Even better if you can show me memos from their corporate sponsors on the exact tactics to be used.

Show me that I'll join you in condemning their actions.    Please show me some actual facts

Thanks,

I did not know this.  Where is this intent to eliminate Medicare in Obama's plan?

Obama's latest statements on the advantage plan concerns "Making health insurers compete to participate in Medicare Advantage, rather than paying them do so, as one way to cut costs and improve benefits, the president said"
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/07/28/obama.health.care/

I think he's making a huge mistake not going with single payer health insurance.

Are you telling the whole story?

Or are you referring to Obama's strategies to revamp and refine the bureacracy.

I just wish that GW Bush hadn't lied to Congress about his medicare bill, threaten the actuary with termination and remove the cost saving feature of the gov's negotiation with drug companies for cheaper drugs.

Those Bush moves hurt.

And like with everything else, Obama has to fix Bush's manifest error(s).

good example.  I don't approve of their actions.

From what I understand they are an anti-war group that does this kinds of stunts to get attention for their chosen cause

Now tell me who their corporate sponsors are.  Show the memos instructing them on how to disrupt the hearings.

Why aren't they doing this at every single hearing?

Other than the fact that they cause a commotion and get dragged out of a room I really don't see any other comparison.

Again, if you've got some additional facts I'd be glad to look at them.

Still waiting to find out who the corporate sponsor of the "don't taise me bro" is?

Corporate sponsors????

You think these 80 y/o grannies there are being paid by the insurance companies?

Who sent the SEIU thugs to the meetings?  Wasnt that a processs of organizing?

And whats so bad about an organized effort?

Our president's only real experience in life is doing the very things you decry by being a "community organizer".  Or do you think that is some benign profession that only seeks to give food in the soup line?
