As a gym owner and bodybuilder I am sick of all the silly beliefs and exercises just about every bodybuilder embraces. All that rubbish is like a virus that everyone catches and it is universal.
Why on earth does anyone do triceps pressdowns with a rope? Stop doing this ineffective exercise. The wannabes read the magazines and think they must be effective because some pro is doing them. Triceps pressdowns aren't much better.
When are musclemen going to wake up and stop doing so many ineffective and literally wasteful movements? I suppose it will continue just like false beliefs such as do what works for you. What kind of direction is that? It is empty and meaningless. What wannabes are being told is that the champs and editors have no clue about what others have to do to get larger muscles. They know what they had to do and accept that few people are crazy enough to follow in the chemical trenches.
Please stop following fads. We even had hapless Melvin Goodrum using a Pilates machine. Whatever did Joseph Pilates know about exercise? Not much at all. That is why countless women follow that crap. While we are at it throw out those balls, bands, and other junk.
Let us remove boxercise, aerobics, pump classes, Yoga, and all manner of nonsense from all gyms. The garbage can for the lot. Put those treadmills and all other so called cardio machines there as well or put them in special locations where fat and obese people can use them free of charge.
Why should we hear those theories about attacking a muscle from different angles? As if muscles know what angle you are using!
While we are at it, will you please cease from endorsing supplements. Just because muscles are composed of protein doesn't mean we need 300 grams a day! Mike Mentzer was right about the protein requirement. If you eat a balanced diet you don't need supplements. Period. Stop wasting your money.
Please stop talking about sciences you know absolutely nothing about. No one here is a geneticist so where does all the knowledge about genetics come from? No one can say who has got what genetics. Larry Scott was a narrow bloke when he dreamed of being a Mr somebody. He won Mr Olympia in 1965 and the crowd chanted, "Larry, Larry, Larry, Larry, Larry!" long after the contest was over.
The commonly held explanation for large muscles is steroids and other drugs. Those who take these drugs and don't get big conclude that they don't have the genetics. Maybe they never did figure out how to train properly in the first place?
Throw out belts, gloves, straps and headbands. Leave your walkmans in the car or at home. Give the TVs in gyms to poor people. Get rid of all that rock music that gives sensible people headaches.
