  • What you!
I don't use the cardio machines and never have. People love them. They don't want big muscles so there you are. They are just fads and expensive ones at that. We pay a fortune in Australia because we have to import them.

I saw another guy using the rope for pressdowns tonight. At the bottom of the movement they go outward. I mean, if you are going to use that thing at least keep the tension all the way down. Just when the triceps is going to contract fully the users take the tension off the triceps. Amazing.

I doubt I can get through to most young fellows because they already think they know everything. I can tell you there is always lots to learn about exercise. Eventually it is possible to eliminate a lot of ineffective and dangerous movements.

Speaking of muscleheads. Some guy broke a handle off a Nautilus crunch machine. How on earth could anyone do that? I replaced them with thicker stainless steel handles and strengthened the area where they attach to the machine. No human being can break the handles now.

As a gym owner and bodybuilder I am sick of all the silly beliefs and exercises just about every bodybuilder embraces. All that rubbish is like a virus that everyone catches and it is universal.

Why on earth does anyone do triceps pressdowns with a rope? Stop doing this ineffective exercise. The wannabes read the magazines and think they must be effective because some pro is doing them. Triceps pressdowns aren't much better.

When are musclemen going to wake up and stop doing so many ineffective and literally wasteful movements? I suppose it will continue just like false beliefs such as do what works for you. What kind of direction is that? It is empty and meaningless. What wannabes are being told is that the champs and editors have no clue about what others have to do to get larger muscles. They know what they had to do and accept that few people are crazy enough to follow in the chemical trenches.

Please stop following fads. We even had hapless Melvin Goodrum using a Pilates machine. Whatever did Joseph Pilates know about exercise? Not much at all. That is why countless women follow that crap. While we are at it throw out those balls, bands, and other junk.

Let us remove boxercise, aerobics, pump classes, Yoga, and all manner of nonsense from all gyms. The garbage can for the lot. Put those treadmills and all other so called cardio machines there as well or put them in special locations where fat and obese people can use them free of charge.

Why should we hear those theories about attacking a muscle from different angles? As if muscles know what angle you are using!

While we are at it, will you please cease from endorsing supplements. Just because muscles are composed of protein doesn't mean we need 300 grams a day! Mike Mentzer was right about the protein requirement. If you eat a balanced diet you don't need supplements. Period. Stop wasting your money.

Please stop talking about sciences you know absolutely nothing about. No one here is a geneticist so where does all the knowledge about genetics come from? No one can say who has got what genetics. Larry Scott was a narrow bloke when he dreamed of being a Mr somebody. He won Mr Olympia in 1965 and the crowd chanted, "Larry, Larry, Larry, Larry, Larry!" long after the contest was over.

The commonly held explanation for large muscles is steroids and other drugs. Those who take these drugs and don't get big conclude that they don't have the genetics. Maybe they never did figure out how to train properly in the first place?

Throw out belts, gloves, straps and headbands. Leave your walkmans in the car or at home. Give the TVs in gyms to poor people. Get rid of all that rock music that gives sensible people headaches.

BBING IS A SEVERAL BILLION DOLLAR MARKET ALL OVER THE WORLD.
THE GOAL FOR SHIT SELLER IS TO BRING FALSE INFORMATION TO PEOPLE.
PEOPLE WITH FALSE INFO CAN'T MAKE PROGRESS.
THE SHIT SELLER KNOW WHY PEOPLE CAN'T PAKE PROGRESS.
IT S BECAUSE THEY DON T USE THE LAST "GAKIC-NO-TECH WITH 128.8% MORE GARBAGE"

Which is why you have a large pot belly Vince.  If you don't do any aerobic exercise, then it will be a lot harder for you to burn off the fat.  As far as treadmills being expensive because of imports is silly.  Instead of buying a US brand item, why not a German product such as Kettler for your equipment and save some money.

Honestly, I think you're complaining more about the plights of your gym equipment breaking down rather than anything else...... ::)

Times have changed and its time you did as well.  See my PM I sent you.  BTW, if you look hard enough, you'll find that some fitness equipment is manufacturered in Australia such as this rower pictured below that I sell

I do agree Vince that younger new guys in the gym think they know everything
We have a new 'ex[pert' who joined our gym in February, has absolutely nothing going for him, despite being on every supplement imaginable, and dbol also
He tried to give me advice on training my quads(by far my best bodypart) last week, like either these guys are dilussional or have downs,I dunno

I do rope all the time, mostly because i been training over 25 years and my elbows hurt -

most exercises branch off from the basic ones only out of being bored from doing the same shit over and over.

Since you are quite the genius, Vince (/laughing), why not offer up some more exercises in which you feel are worthless?
Name 2-3 others you feel are, in your opinion, shitty exercises and tell us why you feel that way.

i have trained for contest without cardio, and with....with cardio, hands down you get in better shape.

im not a young guy that knows it all.....at 42 i have seen it all.

pilates yoga and what ever else is out there.....bands balls and other stuff like kettle bells....i say awesome that if a person is not into the weights and does some kind of exercise...more power to them.

Well Vinny the debate, among amateurs like myself anyway,is that lots of cardio means you can eat more on your diet yet lots of cardio can flatten some people out and eat into leg muscle

I guess its trial and error

Agreed, not everyone is looking to become a bodybuilder and some people who aspire to do ballet or dance needs a different exercise approach than a bodybuilder.

Overall, even if someone is a bodybuilder , they can improve their presentation and flexability through Pilates and Yoga.
