Thanks guys, I'm going to pick him up soon vet said everything went fine.

As to the daycare place, yes they make you sign whats known as a "hold harmless waiver" even schools do it when your kids take a field trip or something. Thing is they don't hold any water in court. You are taking your pet/kid whatever to a place and you are paying them to supervise and oversee your loved one. There is plenty of liability there, you would expect them to do a reasonable job of it. I mean if your kid got badly injured on a field trip do you think the school would not be responsible just cause you signed a waiver? Places do it to CYA so people do not persue litigation, they drop it cause they "signed the waiver" A lawyer could tear that apart. They were not doing this for free and have a responsibility to make sure your loved one is safe no matter what you signed. I mean think about it just cause you signed a piece of paper does not let them be careless, if it did you could never trust them. Sure to sue them for the money would cost me more than the claim in time and aggravation. Someone can not have you sign away any liability.
I did call the place and talked to the owner and of course she refuses to help with the bills, I knew she would. I just figured I would make her say it to me. I hope she feels good about it, we have spent thousands of dollars there over the years. And yes Stella to have a Hold Harmless waiver like they and all doggie daycare places have one, they must have some type of liability insurance and this place does. They just refuse to make a claim. As they know if they gotta make claims then the premiums go up. There also is a deductable they probably have to meet first. Pisses me off cause this is a very busy place in an affluent neighborhood, they do lots of boarding there. Owner bought a new Escalade a year or so ago so they are making good money. Which is fine but don't turn your back on your long time loyal costumers. We just had Cody there earlier that week for 4 days boarding and day care included, $170. We have spent plenty of money there.
Princess, I call what happened an incident not an accident as this could have been avoided. I also take Cody sometimes to another place and they don't throw balls there just for this and other reasons IE dogs getting possessive of balls or fighting for them. I mean to throw a ball into the middle of a play yard with dogs all around, there is no telling which direction one will come from to get the ball. They should know this and do things to prevent it. Now because of their mistake I have dog that is missing a tooth and under went potentially dangerous surgery. There is a big risk anytime they have to put a dog "under"
So I picked up Cody yesterday afternoon and he was crying and so not himself I almost cried. I have never seen him like that, it made me sick. Vet said he "should be" fine in a while. I have never seen this once happy dog so scared and sad. Last night I was really worried, he would not drink but ate some which he vomited up some of it later. This morning he seemed a bit better but he is still not back to 100%. This has been very hard on us both. He finally drank some water this morning, thats a good sign and I gave him a bit of food and his meds. He is just laying there not very happy about the whole thing. We did our morning walk and he is eliminating which is another good sign, I just pray he is back to his old self soon.
