come on..if you believe that you are a fool..politicians don't believe anything...only the vote is what matters....Obama sat there because it benefitted him politically...same as Lott..same as other conservative politicians who are not racists but sit there for the votes

If you go over to your friend's house for twenty years and your friend is always talking about minorities and how they are destroying America, does that mean you believe the same thing?

I'll give you credit for being big enough to admit you were wrong on that.....

as for rev. Wright.....all preachers go too far with their rants.....haven't you ever been in church and rolled your eyes and said "oh brother" to yourself when the preacher said something really dumb???......

my point is sometimes you overlook certain flaws in people when they are your friends....I've had friends who have a hatred of gays and stuff like that but they were good people in other ways.....they were entitled to their opinions.....I disagreed but as long as they didn't take it to the next level and actually assault gays or discriminate against them then I was able to tolerate it and continue the friendships....people aren't perfect...neither are politicians

Morally? I have no problem with it.

Politics is war without bullets and the same thing goes on in the NE where I live, only in different ways.

All they do is scare people about the evil bible belt coming after womens' vaginas, etc.

They scare minorities about the GOP coming with sheets, etc.

Both sides do it.

well ok then what's your beef with a half black politician spending time in a community that obviously has a lot of black racists? How is Obama working their vote any different morally? You just said both sides do it but what? You only want to call Obama on it?

He sat in a church listening to a rabid racist.On top of that he lied and said he NEVER heard any racial rants.The guy LOVED Rev. Wright.He even wrote a book using one of Wrights sermons as the inspiration.Come on,it was A LOT more then just hanging around and getting votes.It was a devotion to the man.

not true...first of all Republicans DO NOT WANT THE BLACK VOTE..it would harm them because all the white racists and conservatives would realize they are on the same side as blacks and voting for the same candidate.....

second, notice that Republicans RARELY campaign in black neighborhoods.....they do this on purpose because even THEY know that blacks would never support them once they hear them takl about their regressive policies...also, if people don't hear what you stand for, they can't vote against you and won't be arroused enough to go to the polls....classic Rebulican strategy to suppress the vote...

ok, you like knowing where they stand. I can understand that. But... here we go again... Denial of the southern strategy among republicans runs extremely high. so how's that any different than a perceived denial by Obama? You suggested politics is war and all is fair in that war morally since both sides play it. Isn't it hypocritical to nail Obama on it then?
