If you look at photos of Lee Haney in the 83 Mr. Olympia and the 1984 Mr. Olympia, he made a huge improvement. Bob Paris made similar improvements and packed on about 20 pounds of muscle between 1982 and 83 when he won the nationals and the Universe. This is when the recombinant Growth Horone began to be widely used by some of the top guys. A Dr. Kerr in L.A. was the main supplier to the bodybuilders and other types of athletes. From all the people I know in the scene, none of them believe Arnold was using the pituitary derived GH or the Rhesus monkey GH in the 70's..nor did Louie either. They just used stuff like Deca, D-bol and primobolin mostly. There was a rumor that Robbie used the monkey GH, but no one really proved it. It's only use back then was treating dwarf kids and most bodybuilders were afraid to use it for fear they would look like Frankenstein. Some people thought Platz was on it in the 70's, but he was one of these guy's whose cheeks just blew up like a chipmunk when he was on juice. If you see him when he's not on cycle, his face doesn't look like that.
