Dexter is the #1 bodybuilder in the world right now, even if predictions indicate he may lose his title at the Olympia. So he can ask for whatever he wants.
In 1993, they were asking between $7K to $10K. Dexter asking $8K 16 years later for guest posing his what he wants. The best part about the American system is that if you dont like the price, then dont take him. You can get someone else.
If Dexter doesnt get any guest appearance, he will lower his price. Simple as that.
Dexter is not arrogant, he is just quieter than others. He isnt a bodybuilder that I consider arrogant, and I know there have been a few like that.
I agree Ron,
BUT, we're not debating he's an ass for asking too much.
we're less than thrilled at the fact he stepped in when Freeman was being asked the same question, and
said "Tony don't take less than 8000 neither"... if this is in fact true, that's classless.
you'd never see Jay ask for 8000, the guy says its too much, and goes to speak to someone else regarding the
same situation, and Jay butts in and says "uh, he doesn't take less than 8000$ neither, he's got bills to pay"
that's a good enough reason to get your ass kicked right there.
If i were that promoter guy, when Dexter stepped in for Tony, i would have said Excuse me? was i asking you??? fuck off!
now both Tony and Dex
DON'T get any money, because Dexter was being a dick. great move!
I bet Tony would have accepted the 5000$ price, but along comes Dex, sours the deal, bye bye 5Grand for Toney Freeman!
(i bet he was happy deep inside!)
lol

say what you want About
Jay, at least he put himself out there, and had respect and class for all.
he promoted the sport as best he could, and you saw his face everywhere.
he truly carried the flag for Bodybuilding after he won the "O" in 2006.
now i hear this about Dexter, who spent his last offseason watching DVD's at home, and driving his
custom BMW to the Japanese Grill everyday. good job!
Down with Dex!
