like i said, at $400k a pop for 10 seconds runs, and multi million $ prizes for tennis and golf, and so on... six figures for the top guy is a pittance.

whats the average income in the US? $50-$60k...for joe average?

$90k for college graduates a year or two out?

i would suggest taking these pro BB's total income, subtracting the cost for them to prep and maintain their lifestyle to remain at the top, then compare to Joe Average.

seems to me that they might be better off just with a day job, or a college education...even moreso in the long run.

In comparison to other sports and different professions, I'm sure that Dexter doesn't make much for where he is in his given profession (#1 in the world- popular or not). Someone earlier said that a low ranking golfer can make $250k and nobody in the golfing world really knows him. Now put that against Dexter who is #1 in BBing and still nobody knows him.

I remember Ronnie being on Leno, Letterman, and Rosie O'Donnell among other lesser known shows. He was promoting his "sport" (lets not debate this here!) and trying to give greater exposure. People ripped on him for saying he was natural on air, but do you expect him to admit to using illegal substances for the televised world to hear?

I guess what I'm saying is, at least other people went out there and made an attempt to promote BBing and not sit back. Not that I'm looking for it, but I can't say I've seen Dex really make that effort.

Obviously. My point was that people constantly and consistently ask for the winner of the Olympia to stand up and speak out...when he does so, they'll find something to nitpick on when he does.
Ronnie tried and still seems to keep his face out there. Aside from a few things I've seen or heard about from Dexter, he hasn't done much if anything at all. Given, Ronnie was held the title for 8 years, versus Dexter only having one year. Maybe if Dex wins again this year (There are others I'd like to see win) he'll change some things that he did, or maybe I should say did not do. Time will tell.

Go and get Ronnie Rockel. He wouldn't charge as much. Your buddy won't sell as many tickets either. That's the way the free market works. If he doesn't like it then go and live in China.
