I always do. I don't have a problem lifting the weight that I lift, I only have a problem with the bar slipping out of my hands. That's where the straps come in handy.

Straps if I'm goin' real heavy.

Straps if I'm deadlifting. I usually try to shrug a few out after I pull the bar off the floor on my last reps. I may not be able to pull another dead from the floor (or the rack)- but I can sure shrug it a few times before I drop it.

It would be worth it even for back work like heavy pulldowns  or chins. Sometimes you need to just get your grip out of an exercise. Your grip can limit you by deciding how much you will pull and how long you will hang on to the load.

If you buy em and can't figure em' out, I will personally make you an instructional video.

Here's one, but it ain't me babe... no no no it ain't me (sorry was thinkin about Bob Dylan)

Train your grip yes, but if your going heavy still use straps or grip will give out before your traps.

Don't kid yourself. Straps have their advantages. Some muscles can't be exhausted prior to your grip giving out.
