The mortgage crisis was caused by the idiotic democrats forcing banks to give loans to people that couldnt pay it back. All in the name of fairness and diversity.Barney Frank,Chris Dodd were the main ones behind it.

The govt and the Fed are primarily to blame for this mess.

Moore is correct on the FBI account. But the facts that drove the banks to create and push preditory lending is never addressed in Moore's movies. The facts are the facts and it starts way back during the Carter Admin. The push to have lower income people purchase homes started way back then. It stalled a bit at the end of his term and through Reagan and Bush Sr. But during Clinton's admin it was awakened to where ground swell groups in large, like ACORN, Working Family, etc.. strong-armed banks into approving loans for people who could not afford them. Now, many people got super rich on this at the banks and they are at fault as well, and so many politicians in the Bush Jr. and Obama admin too. Names like Chuck Shumer (sp?), Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Pelosi, etc... During the Bush Jr. admin in 2004 the House and Senate denied the GOB and chance of setting new regulations to spearhead a fix before the claims the housing market will collapse if something doesn't change. I recall Frank stating; "I would rather err on the side of letting people buy homes then fix something that is not broken. Fannie Mae... is not broken". So, I ask you, why not do a documentary on the collapse of the housing market? Why not investigate this instead of CIA tactics? Does anyone care about the way the CIA handled the interrogations of terrorists?? Polls show the American people don't. But, like all govt's in power, they will protect themselves. Too many people made too much money in the Obama admin and they hold all the cards.

Nice post 12sec.  Thats my basic understanding as well.
They don't report on that because people like Moore aren't interested in the whole truth.  Just the parts that fit their ideology.

Thanks, If you and anyone else wants to get totally PISSED OFF at our so-called free gov't, read the book "Black Swan". It lays out how the biggest, most corrupt entity known as the US Gov't ruined the housing market. The worst part? No one is being held responsible. Finger pointing. That's what we get. People, we need to remember this at the polls. Our gov't needs a house cleaning and the way the House and Congress just backed Rep. Charlie (I make the tax laws, but don't pay them) Rangle... should get us all sick.
Now, history has shown that everything the gov't gets their hands on goes down the crapper, aka, social security, medicare, hell... DMV! Ask yourself this... do you REALLY want the gov't running our healthcare system?  ??? :'(

But on the other hand, I agree with Hannity too. Ultimately, we are all responsible for our actions. If you can't afford the loan, but you sign the papers, you are HELLO!! RESPONSIBLE! Those rich people that were "duped" by Madoff are really not victims in my book. Yes, they lost their life savings and that's bad. But hold on a second and think about this... Madoff promised over 10% interest by investing with him. 10%???!! This is NEVER heard of before. It is not logical. But, greed took over and they dumped money in his company. Turns out he was leading the largest ponzy scheme in history. So, yes, they were taken, but they certainly were not victims. They should have realized this was a farse just by the promise of such a high return on investiment.

Why thank you. I've actually been here a while, and I was a member a few years ago back in 04, but it seemed back then my views were not in the majority. It's good to see people are coming to their senses! hehehe. You are not too bad yourself!

I would say they owned each other in their mutual stupidity.

Moore is a complete moron and should stick with eating burgers.  Hannity needs to get better educated so that he could have easily dismissed Moores' half truths.

I wouldn't say that. I think Hannity had to take it easy if he wants Moore back on. Hey, ratings are ratings...
