America is in terrrible shape relative to the Great Depression. At least back then america had a manufacturing base, a far more intelligent populace, less cynicism, a DEBT that was far far less than the TRILLIONS it is in now. There is nothing that can encourage america out of this state it is in. Even if manufacturing could be brought back instantly...what would america manufacture? Who in the population knows any skills of yesteryear that were so and are so in demand? Where are teh ideas america(n) inventors USED to have? Now every product, idea, invention comes from China, Japan, India any and everywhere else but america. America is DEAD now with no ressurection abilities.

my cell phone and ps3 would suggest otherwise

That is two of the all too many DISTRACTIONS keeping you unaware of the reality of what is going on in america and the world. Added to the list are American Idol, American football, American baseball, American Reality Shows, Cell Phones, Toys of all type, fashion, novelty products etc etc etc...ALL DISTRACTIONIS to keep you from participating in saving your own lives, lifestyles, homes, policies, rights laws, etc etc etc

Are u fucking stupid....u must be. 1929 Vs 2009.....we're in debt yep. Other then that our citizens are more educated then in 1929 and dumbass we invent most of the crap that China, Japan and India now manufacture. We need to re industrialize and dump all the regulations that make it impossible...its only paper and regs that are stopping us. Why don't u tell us where ur from so we can all laugh at how much u just don't matter.

U can hope that we fail but we won't and when people like u are being ground under the heel of the US and the West again, I'll laugh.

No, I am quite educated

More educated THAN (it is THAN not then) in 1929....hardly. The entire educational system in america today would FAIL miserably compared to its 1929 standard. Civics was EXTREMELY IMPORTANT then...it is not taught at all now. Therefore american students have no idea of their government, their rights, the laws of the land etc etc...FAIL!!!

Every new idea is coming from China, India, Japan etc...america only invents WMD and even the components are manufactured over seas

You could not re-industialize america even if you wanted to as the cost of even making a simple thing like an umbrella in america would cost hundreds of millions to build the factory, millions to buy the raw goods and the labor force would not be willing to be paid a miniscule wage to make the umbrellas affordable to the masses. With the american system, umbrellas would cost 30 to 40 dollars each.

You could never laugh at me because the rest of the world is too busy laughing at you

IMO we're in much stronger shape today.

we have a bigger bill today, but our military superiority and the fact the dollar is still used for oil, shows that we aren't nearly as vulnerable.

We'll be fine.  american exports are cheap now.  europeans are coming to NY to do their christmas shopping.

Obviously you are NOT paying attention to the news. The dollar has been droped by almost every OPEC nation, the French, Chinese, Japanes, Russians, Venzuelans, Saudis etc have had secret meeting that have come to light now with the topic being DROP THE AMERICAN DOLLAR NOW!!! So far as military prowness...DOn't make me laugh. These staged wars in Iraq and Afghanistan show just how pathetic america is. Twenty years in Iraq already and TRILLIONS being spent in that time has produced what? A world more hostile to america than ever. Years in Afghanistan has produced what? Bumper crops of Heroin and an onslsught of cheap heroin in america. All totalled to gether america can not even with a war with small nations...what will happen if it fights a nation with a REAL MILITARY.?

Europeans have always come to america to shop...it is becasue american dollar is worthless compared to theirs, so goods are cheaper in america to them.

OK Mr. WANNA BE SOLDIER...is there something you wish to impart on me that I do not know? America has bought it way out of every battle it has engaged in. If it were not for that america would have been decimated a long time ago by just about any nation. America would struggle to win a war with Canada right about now.

Its not the amount of men in the fight, but the amount of fight in the men that wins battles....america has no fight in its men.

I've read stories from several international "peacekeeping" soldiers about the american army being the most over equipped and lazy.
