"The feds were supposed to make the documents available Friday, but in a motion late Thursday, the Obama administration is asking for a 30-day emergency stay (.pdf) so it can file a further appeal."

The Department of Justice has finally admitted it in court papers: The nation’s telecom companies are an arm of the government — at least when it comes to secret spying.

Fortunately, a judge says that relationship isn’t enough to squash a rights group’s open records request for communications between the nation’s telecoms and the feds.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation wanted to see what role telecom lobbying of the Justice Department played when the government began its year-long, and ultimately successful, push to win retroactive immunity for AT&T and others being sued for unlawfully spying on American citizens.

It's perfectly legitimate to criticize him for not doing the stuff he said he would when he was running for office

I've criticized him for other stuff too like the stupid beer summit

While you may not do it, there are a few people on here who criticize Obama simply for being a "lib" (regardless of the he's hardly a lib on almost everything)

Some people on here say they hate Obama for no other reason that he's a "lib" and they hate "libs" therefore they hate Obama

Hedge thats not really true. There were many people, myself included, who were disgusted at Bush for many issues.

The House GOP did not vote for TARP remember? That was Bush/Pelosi/McLame/Obama/Paulson/Geithner

It was the house GOP that killed amnesty for illeglas.

I was disgusted at NCLB & Medicaire Drug bill - those were Bush and the Dems, not the conservatives.

CFR was horrible IMHO as well.

off the top of my head I can recall criticizing Obama for continuing and even expanding on some Cheney era bullshit like renditions, wiretaps, not making the white house visitor log public etc..

I also criticize him for being wishy washy, not following through on his campaing promises etc...

The difference is that I just don't shit on Obama by default for everything like certain people on this site.
