Yeah, they are trashing the 1/2 game suspension.  He called out Meyer for acting like he takes it seriously, yet not really doing anything about it.  He should have been gone for at least 1 or 2 games.
That guy on Oregon punched out that guy after getting taunted and look what happened to him.

The Oregon player gets a whole season suspension for decking the Boise State player, but the LB from Florida tries to blind someone and gets 30 minutes...

Urban Meyers can shit like he wants... That player needed to be suspended for the whole season and thrown off the team...

Rough game, Yes... Street fight, No....

The punishment for this guy doesn't fit the infraction.

lmao...seems you really know me.  what else can you tell me?  dimwit

That football players who play the game the right way don't spend 10-15 seconds trying to remove an opponents eyeball.  It's not the norm, which makes me questions your claims of playing football at any level.  I played crappy d3 ball, and even there, most players played the game the right way.

Lagerette(sp) is being reinstated today or next game...at least he missed most of season...But Oregon is now in Nat title picture so I guess they see the need for him

But here's the thing...

They've been winning - and impressively so - WITHOUT him.  I'm a Duck supporter (after the Longhorns, of course), but I don't need to know the kid personally to know that this is the wrong move by the football program.

I know that we're all capable of snapping at any time, if provoked.  But we also have to understand that those meltdowns can carry severe consequences.  If it were 1959, he would've been lynched.  If it were 1989, he would've been off the team and lost his scholarship.

But in 2009, he's scolded and gets suspended for a few games.

Gotta love the modern interpretation of 'zero tolerance' and accountability.  ::) I want you all to keep the NCAA's soft stance on this in mind in the future.

Maybe the GA player is into some bizarre sex act involving dudes sticking their fingers in his eyes?  Possible...there are weirder fetishes out there...

Watch it, there are Gators here too ;D. By the way, how was the game for you? I figured UF's offensive wouldn't show up as strong, and had them only scoring 28 pts. I am ashamed of Spike's incident, but I guess he is following in the footsteps of a select few fellow gators :-\, or even worse, a FSU crimi-nole...

The UF/GA rivalry just isn't the same now, your dawgs need to bring us a challenge in a few years.

Same thing I heard from my wife's uncle (big GA fan). I prefer the red helmets myself too, it's got to be a marketing gimmick...

Brandon Spikes
only got half-game suspension

But coach says 'that's not him'

If that ain't him, then who the fuck is it?

Animal

this is nothing uncommon in football, he just got caught.  he looks like a freaking saint compared to bill romanowski. i'm not approving of his actions, i am just not as surprised by this as some are.

if you want to read about some of the fucked up shity that goes on in the piles, read "dark side of the game" by former falcon LB Tim Green.

Going to have to disagree with you here.  What Spikes did is not the norm.  Romo was a lunatic, and his actions are not accepted by 90% of NFL players.  I agree that bad things happen in NFL piles, but it's not the norm to do things like try and gouge someones eyes out.  The norm = Flying elbows, shots to the nuts, etc.

Richt is a good coach, you guys just need a new defensive coordinater. You made my boy J. Crompton look like Peyton Manning, and that takes A LOT of work.

In other news, Urban Meyer bought on auction Evander Holyfield's ear for $100,000 dollars...When questioned about it, Urban said I've been trying to build the perfect prototype human athlete to fuck for decades...All I need now is an eye and a kidney...After hearing the news the NCAAF will now be supplying extra kidney pads to all its football players in hopes to deter the fucking flaming homo...

As opposed to you, who was a d1 superstar who spent his time gouging guys eyes out in the pile.  You have no credibility  ::)  Sorry, dude, your claims are untrue.  Just accept it.
