To me it's night and day between a real good street fighter and a decent trained fighter, but that's just my 2 cents and from what Ive seem personally.

You are acting like having MMA training makes you some unstoppable force of nature that renders their opponent defenseless.

If some dude went for my arm, neck leg...whatever, I'm capable enough to realize what's going on and defend myself.

A top tier fighter?  no, they would fuck me up in a heartbeat. but so would a top boxer, wrestler etc. etc.

how many truly skilled, dangerous MMA are guys are walking around? much less getting into street fights.

I do think it's funny to see the occasional 130 pounder all decked out in tapout gear, walking around with a scowl, all too happy to brag aloud to anyone that they could destroy a young Mike Tyson because they've been "training for MMA" for a few months. I'm not saying all of you "Cage Fighters" are like this, but you all have to admit that there are a few of you out there like this.

It seems as though "MMA" has become to today's younger (or younger minded) males what "karate" and other Oriental Martial Arts were when I was a kid. I can remember prepubescent kids I grew up with bragging about being able to whip any non-martial artist (regardless of age, size, etc) because they had taken a couple of weeks of mythical karate lessons. There was even a song called "Kung Foo Fighting" that came out back in the day.

it took the average person a good 10 years or so to realize that the krane technique or whatever bullshit tae kwon do teaches doesn't work in a real fight

Exactly. I'm a mellow guy, I don't want to fight. If someone strikes me with a fist, I presume he trys to kill me. So I do everything I can to stop him, go for the eyes etc.
