bumping this.

for showstoppa:  the problem with buying commercial equipment is not the price per se; it's the 50% markup for shipping and i can't find shit in the "fitness stores" around here that satisfy quality requirements for me, regardless of price.

which is understandable i guess; 90% of people buy a machine and just use it as a coat rack, but i do plan on/ use the equipment i buy.

i can't just go to a cybex or hammer store at the mall because it doesn't exist.  so i can either buy the cheap ass foam padded calf raise around here or pay $1000 plus $500 for shipping.

Why not visit a fitness expo (sorry for this term but that's how the industry calls it) so that you can try several brands, doing business and take the stuff home yourself?

I'm sorry but I'm not aware of any ab machine that Body Solid makes that has weights that you load on the head side and the bottom side.  That would be pretty interesting to see.

Everytime I was in the gym I forgot to take the pics of the machine but here they are.
First pic is unloaded.
Second pic I only loaded 2 10lbs plates on the head side and you can see what happens.
For you and me it's logic etc how to use the machine but if you are a secretary and purchase this for home use you will enjoy it by loading the head end everytime because it's easier.

Very uncomfortable machine for the experienced gymrat and no ways to adjust anywhere for the taller or shorter people but the leg support and the angle of the machine stays the same

Trying is believing but judging from those pics this machine lacks of flexibility and has worse biomechanics. Most ab machines I've tried caused lower back problems. I prefer doing crunches with a rope pulley or a swiss ball.

My power rack is a Body Solid.  Gets the job done & the price was right but it's very basic and probably isn't rated to carry enough for someone who moves big weight.  Strictly a 'fitness enthusiast's' piece of equipment.  Can't imagine anyone putting their gear in a commercial setting.

Btw, since we're ranting - I fucking hate Gold's Gym stuff.  DO NOT BUY.  I have some oly plates for my dumbell handles and the metallic paint continues to chip off the fucking things.  The retard that brought these to market should be publicly flogged.  It's just a matter of time until I get a flake in my eye & I keep meaning to get some other ones.  My TFG and BodyWorx plates are ok tho.  Ffs how hard is it to make a weight plate?!

True.  I like my multistation too (mostly for flies, leg extensions, and leg curls), some no name chinese manufactured thing, but I'd get along quite well without it.  If I had to go kit out again it would be the rack first, oly barbell & adjustable dumbells, and a bench that incorporates leg extensions and curls (although I've never used one and the non cable mechanics might be crappy).

A height adjustable cable crossover would be pretty cool, but it's a lot of machine for probably not much benefit.

A lat cable would be great for sure,,

The holes at the bottom and top of your rack are there to accomodate a weight stack.  I didn't get it since I already have my multi.  Maybe you can buy the stack and cable setup to add on?
