1985 was the best year for movies EVER, off the top of my head here are some of the movies from 1985:

commando
death wish 3
rocky 4 (with drago)
the goonies
back to the future
silver bullet

thats just to name a few...can you imagine going abck to '85 when all these future classics were coming out one by one?
not only that but Metal ruled the airwaves, you could wear anything you wanted and it didnt matter, you could fuck without getting aids and if she got pregnant they couldnt prove it, technology wasnt overboard yet, pretty much the ONLY thing that sucked were the cars.

Best movies in 1985? no way...

1984 was the best movie year avah...

Terminator, Ghost Busters, beverly hills cop, gremlins, karate kid, romancing the stone, starman, the killing fields, splash, 2010, greystoke legend of tarzan... etc. etc. etc.

i agree 84 was the best year for movies, Purple Rain, Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom, Amadeus, Dune, A nightmare on Elm Street...

Terminator really had a big impact on my psychologically.  It really increased my fascination with guns..

i like ghostbusters, didn't like gremlins

i would put karate kid on the same level as BTTF, but it didn't win as many awards or get 4 stars ;D

It had great public appeal though.
Wax on Wax off..
Sweep the leg.
Everyone was doing the crane move across playgrounds after seeing that movie and even spawned a GB poster = Daneilsan , that right there is bigger than 4 stars  :D

Yup, that's exactly how 1985 went down.  Tons of breakdancing during the school day, whites and blacks got along and even old folks that would randomly show up at the school gym to see a group of negros get down....

Man, how I miss those days..

For a gay negro who was still hiding in the closet, it probably did suck.

Back then they didn't have the cocktails. He probably had many "friends" dropping like flies.
