yea, it's actually a pretty common belief among many Christians, especially Evangelicals and the like.  I've posted a history of how it got started and turned that way in the religious forum.  These morons collect and actually give large sums of money to people in Israel specifically thinking of the "end times prophesies"  Watched a documentary with some of these guys that basically boiled down to them going over with there collected monies to just give away for the progress of settlements, in their minds, supporting the return of Jesus by giving cash to the cause.  I read some articles in Heeb Magazine a few years back that basically called out these same Christian idiots.  Heeb Magazine is a Jewish publication.

If you're a Zionist Christian, that is a Christian that supports Israel and the original Zionist cause, you should know that up to the 1800's that was not common at all for any Christians.  A small group of people set out to change that and influence Christianity in the late 1800's mainly through Evangelicals.  They took these political goals and specifically merged them with the Evangelicals to form support for the creation of a Jewish State, Israel.  It still stands today, you see the biggest support for Israel coming from the Evangelicals.  This came about through manipulation, and was contrary to the Christian tradition before that time.  They specifically mention in several instances from that period that Christianity had become "paganized" and useless to their purposes.  They sought to change that and did for the most part.  I know the reference of Christianity being paganized is strange, but that's actually how the early Zionists referenced Christianity at that time.

I could car less what any candidate believes.

It's only if/when it negatively affects policy that it bothers me.

heck, a lot of people aren't that religious, but use it to get elected.

On a basic political and religious level, I agree with Palin. I'm one of the Christians who believe that we are indeed living in the last days, and who supports Israel's right to exist and to defend herself. But none of that changes the fact that Palin is as airy as she is underexperienced. She's Dan Quayle with a vagina.

America was founded on a strong christian belief system , and hey !! Guess what? America did great until it started letting every other religion influence policy. I am for freedom of religion, but dont change the basic religion that america was founded upon.

Freedom of religion is a fundamental right.

However, i have reservations about whether she could separate those beliefs for the benefit of the country.  Church and state are separate for a reason.  Palin in my mind would try to bring them closer together which is a dangerous course of action and unfortunately this is what represents the GOP these days.  religious beliefs above all else.

Many of us shared the same fear of Obama and the church he went too, and sadly it seems as he cany separate the two either.

I hope more reporters ask Palin about the rapture and explain how her beliefs on the "End Times" influences her political decisions.

I'd also to like to know more about why she thinks that, as she said in the video, that:  more and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the DAYS, WEEKS, and MONTHS ahead.

Since she made religion an issue, i'm SURE it will become bigger and bigger.  especially since Olbermann now has made it a big deal.

Seriously, I don't care if candidates worship goat or don't believe in God at all - just do a good job running our country, dammit.

wow, so many things to comment about here, dude.
but, the general feeling is, 'leave the white male alone' everything was perfect back when our founding fathers were incharge.  If you were white, owned land, and didnt have those pesky females voting, and of course, if you wanted to, have a few slaves around the house and fields.  Yup, dont change the basics!
