im trying to increase power right now, i went from a 315 for reps bench to a 405 bench clean no spot last thursday. tomorrow im gonna try to get a triple or a double with it, then next week im gonna try 465.
I do all power movements first in any training I do. In my bench (for this cycle since I've only been back for 5 weeks) I keep my reps between 1-3. As an example, week 1 regular bench six sets wide finishing with 435lbs, 4 sets close grip, week 2 - 6 sets board press 4 sets speed work w/bands, close grip press, week 3 - Board press with band resistance finish with no board. week 4 - Reverse band press, 6 sets to 500lbs. (I missed it this week) 4 sets close grip press using a football bar.
