For what it is worth, Melvin Goodrum is a bodybuilder. The issue with Ron and others is whether Getbig should recognize his standing. Well, he got into reasonable condition at his last show and had some separation and so on. He has paid some dues re learning to get defined. He knows how to pose and shows up looking like a competitor. The time he got up on the table with Billy Guns was not Melvin as a bodybuilder but a buffoon. We see that at contests sometimes when someone enters and looks out of place. Melvin won a 2nd place trophy. It wasn't his fault no one else was in that category. Lots of dudes enter categories that give them the best chance to win a trophy. The whole point is he didn't buy that trophy but was awarded it on stage in a proper contest. According to the rules here Melvin is a competitor.

Besides, he assures us he is close to getting a pro card. I mean, who is going to stop him? Maybe he posts here to get people to laugh at him and then he is going to really show the flotsam?

You can't get too much of a good thing. Melvin is right in there in the lineup posing his heart out. He would look bigger if he weren't on the end.

No one can deny he is a bodybuilder. Sure, he might have been last in that lineup but so what, he competed and was fair dinkum.

Yes he has improved , he has gone from looking like a big fat steaming pile of dog shite to a smaller steaming pile of dog shite.

A good 20 weeks out as far as condition goes which would leave him 140 pounds ..guy needs to train to gain some muscle and then diet correctly.

I have never understood the expression that someone looked like shit. I haven't seen any bodybuilder who remotely looked like that. Look at those trademark calves on Melvin. He has paid his dues. His long arms make it difficult to get much size. There he is slugging away year after year with challenging genetics. He is the epitome of Getbig Wannabes.

There should be a one year time limit for stars.

What I don't get from those pics is; how can someone do that many shows and not know the mandatory poses or how to make 1/4 turns? I know someone's gonna chime in and say pics were taken at the wrong time, angle, space/time continuum, etc... but that'd be bullshit.

I wasn't last in the lineup, Basile. There was one person who looked very bad and left after prejudging. But thanks for putting up some of the most fuzziest, unfocused pictures ever.

Regardless, Basile I do not intend to end bodybuilding like you did....in the far back of the bus....or van

I learned pretty quick I got no biz on stage but at 35 I looked better
than anything you dreamed
and your how old? compare you with my pics back a page or so. i was 35 there.

I'm a pretty big guy but one of the few people who can do a vacuum from a front double biceps pose position so it looks pretty freaky. If you met me in person, you would quickly realize that I don't have a swimmers physique. I may have been a bit lighter, but based on the pictures I'm definitely not getting dwarfed.

This year, I will be much heavier as I have built back up my quads greatly but I won't sacrifice conditioning and will still pull off doing vacuum poses.

I only did that at the night show but no picture was taken. Prejudging ab/thigh pose has to show the definition and conditioning of the abdominals specifically so I could not do it there.

Since I didn't make the top 5, I was never given a final placing but it doesn't matter because I looked better than ever and I was overall pleased with my appearance. This year, I will much more competitive but ultimately I enjoy the fact that I'm able to do what a love to do and make a good living off the bodybuilding and fitness industry. That's what really counts
