Exactly. The ghettoization of the NBA is a horrible thing. Playing one on one/streetball used to get you yanked from a game....now it's the norm.

Jordan was the greatest thing to have happened to NBA...too bad nobody has the mentality that he had. He wanted to beat you (individually) AND win the game.

Exactly.....the kids who tried to emulate him forgot that he was doing it all within the context of trying to win the game at ALL costs. He often did the things he did because he HAD to for his team to win. I've been watching a lot of ESPN classic college ball lately. It is amazing how much the game has changed in the last 20 years......players used to catch a pass, dribble about 3 times and then either shoot or pass.....now players will dribble around for 20 seconds of the shotclock......really different games. And the physical inside play is getting out of hand.

But I can't stand the NBA 4th qaurter play only. One could use the excuse of defense. Hell, maybe they should only make the game to be one quarter.

But money has played a lot in decreasing the the play. This "pay me huge amounts of money first before I prove myself", needs to stop. All it does is create spoiled rich athletes who feel that it is beneath them to play like they either did in college or high school. And this shows in the previous Dream Team losses.

that'd be awesome. I'd love to watch a game thats focused on ball movement, passing, fundamentals much more than the glorified game of "1 on 1, throw up a three, or go down low" that the game has become.

ESPN "outside the lines" did a show recently where they talked about the massive decline of white, US born players in the NBA. There are very, very few.
