He didn't need another. He wrote the only work of fiction worth reading. There's no need to do anything else but sit back and enjoy that you wrote the only book considered a 'Classic' that was able to avoid all the mental-masturbation, thesaurus searching big worded garbage that 'book fans' cream their pants over.
Too much hype. It's a good book but it's not like you can raise the dead with it.
I remember getting interested in Catcher in the Rye because of all the assasins, murderers, etc... who had it. It was a good read, but not anything to wet your pants over. Has stood the test of time well, though.
Yes... in the Annuls of classic literature, I would probably recommend many other things, before that.
