Yes 1999, now it seems as if most Mr O's are best their first couple of years like Dorian and Ronnie then their conditioning falls off do you see the same thing Hulkster?

No offense Hulkster but you can clearly see his conditioning is tighter in 01. Less water than 99.. if you look closely at his skin you can see how painted on it looks in 01.

you can clearly see he was virtually just as tight in 99 as he was at the AC only with more size and a smaller gut.

99 was his best ever presentation. even though everyone remembers his AC win as a standout because he was facing sub par competition (other than Chris) and he destroyed them even more than usual as a result..

In those videos, he looks much better in 1999 than 2001.  In 2001, despite his weight being lower, his gut was just too out of control.  Bloat perhaps?   Also, his arms are much more impressive in 1999.  I think 1998 was his driest, but he was a few pounds lighter than his 1999 form.

hate to disagree with you again, but I feel Ronnie was better at the 01 ASC than the 99 Mr Olympia. You like to compare how 2 bodybuilders look at their worst. However, the true measure of greatness is how good they looked at their best.

it was not impressive mainly due to lighting, but it was more than that. his gut was a lot worse in 2001 and to me that makes a big difference.

Honestly, I'm not the slightest bit impressed with Ronnies 01 AC shape. He was small and not even super sharp, don't know where all this hype about his Arnolds shape comes from. Also I think Dennis James could have won that show, who really was at his all time best.

true he looked amazing under that lighting, but his midsection at that show was not as tight as it was at the Olympia. he peaked for the O., but was holding a little water in the midsection area at the GP show.
