Cena maybe in terms of wrestling skill. Hogan? Absolutely not. I think Hogan is way under-rated as a wrestler.

Hogan did what he needed to do to be successful. He was way more technical back in Japan, but maybe Vince didn't see him as being that kind of guy in WWF.

The Brooklyn Brawler… He mustn’t have complained too much because he still works for WWE today. I’m not sure what his role is, but he’s on Vince’s payroll.
Unless he's not and he just hangs around at Titan Towers shootin’ the shit with the boys and making the occasional DVD cameo.

So I guess Lombardi knows the answer to the age old question: "Who do you have to..."
Never mind.

Hulkster didn't need to depend on his in ring abilities for success. He was all charisma. Some people have it. Some people don't. Look at Bret Hart. If he wasn't one of the greatest ring technitions ever. His charm would have sank him faster then a lead balloon.

mine would be frank the spaceman hickey than joe terko.
That would be Joe Turko And no, he was a great rassler. Played his role great, lost almost every match, but still knew how to work the crowd and lose with grace.

Hart started as a tag team guy with a loud mouth managed by yet another loud mouth guy. So it took him a while to hit it big. Hogan was more of an All American boy which stole the hearts of fans.

That’s one thing he never grew out of. Vince still sprouts wood for enormous guys – whether they can work or not.
To us, it seems so passe to bring some really tall guy in just to build him as a monster heel to feed as a push at the right time. But, Khali is essentially the same thing as Gonzales.

I think that all stems back to Andre The Giant. Andre was a one of a kind. A freak show in every arena all over the world. Revered by everyone. He made tons of cash for Vince and for himself but the difference was at one point he could wrestle and was very agile until his illness started to settle in.
